Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake to have the same budget as Alan Wake II

Remedy Entertainment has been developing the Max Payne 1 and 2 remakes but it’s also in partnership with Rockstar Games. It was no surprise to see the two companies come together as they’ve done so in the past, but what we didn’t know was how the budget would be for these remakes. According to a financial statement by Remedy Entertainment, the Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake will have the same budget as Alan Wake II. That will make for great anticipation for those who have been fans of Remedy’s recent games like Alan Wake or even Control. Rockstar Games will be the ones funding the project while Remedy Entertainment works its magic to recreate the best experience possible for Max Payne. Alan Wake II was a finalist for Game Of The Year at The Game Awards 2023 but fell short of Baldur’s Gate 3.

Rumor: Grand Theft Auto 6 is falling behind with plans for a late 2025 launch

Rockstar Games shared the highly anticipated trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 in December 2023 with no exact release date announced. What they did confirm was that GTA 6 has a 2025 release window, but that can easily change if the studio faces any setbacks. It was reported that Grand Theft Auto 6 is entering its final stages of development and with that Rockstar Games decided to make employees return to office in April. This will help with security reasons like leaks. GTA 6 might see a delay to Fall 2025. That’s according to Kotaku who report it’s becoming more likely that the sequel will launch beyond early 2025. Depending on how bad the setback is we could see the release be pushed to as late as 2026. Also according to Zack Zwiezen of Kotaku, Rockstar is still planning to launch GTA VI in Spring 2025, and if they do have a setback, that will be the likely scenario we see. It wouldn’t be a shock to see Rockstar Games delay the next Grand Theft Auto game as they’ve done it before. We’ll have to wait and see what happens in the coming months. Right now it is confirmed that GTA VI will release on Xbox and PlayStation.

Preview: Ready, Steady, Ship!

PAX East 2024 has arrived and so have a variety of indie developers from around the world including Martynas Cibulis, the creators of Ready, Steady, Ship! This game is a couch co-op experience with the goal of assembling the most efficient conveyor belts to keep packages flowing. Ready, Steady, Ship takes place in a factory where it’s your job to keep the line moving at all costs. When hopping on this game for the first time it immediately reminded me of popular co-op games published by Team17, Moving Out 2 and Overcooked 2. Ready, Steady, Ship compares to the Moving Out series, but it’s different as you are gathering packages onto a conveyor belt and theoretically it would be on the way for delivery. The game starts you off on a basic level giving you a nice feel of it as expected, but one of my main issues from my short experience playing the game was when you get onto Level 2 you are already introduced to more complicated stages for example you get to use a Forklift to grab pallets and a crane to pick up boxes on top of picking up regular boxes to deliver. There’s also a nice variety of characters to choose from and what they are remains to be seen as the demo we played on did not reveal the others. Ready, Steady, Ship! has the framework to be a fun co-op game that can bring the house together but there are definitely some improvements to be made so players can be better engaged. You can wishlist Read, Steady, Ship on Steam now and it will be releasing Q2 2024.

Larian Studios has no plans to release a Baldur’s Gate 4

Larian Studios’ Baldur’s Gate 3 will not be getting any new DLC or Expansions said founder, Swen Vincke at a GDC panel this week. He also revealed that they are not working or planning on doing a Baldur’s Gate 4. Vinckce said the studio wants to move away from Dungeons & Dragons entirely and attempt something new. It’s shocking to see Larian Studios walk away from the successful IP, especially with Baldur’s Gate 3 taking home Game of The Year at The Game Awards in 2023. It was also one of the highest-rated games of 2023 doing better than games like Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom, Alan Wake II, Diablo IV, and many others. Larian Studios will continue to do patches for Baldur’s Gate 3 as they have already been doing, but don’t expect any new content in the near future. Were you hoping for a Baldur’s Gate 4? Source: IGN
