Vampire Survivors Gets Summer 2024 Release Window For PlayStation 4 & PlayStation 5, Reveals New Contra DLC ‘Operation Guns’

One of the most addicting games on Xbox Game Pass is expanding to more platforms. With more than a year being available only via the Microsoft ecosystem, Poncle is preparing to launch Vampire Survivors on PlayStation later this summer. Originally available on PC Game Pass in May 2022, the game was later welcomed to traditional Xbox Game Pass by November 2022. But December, the game was faced with a ‘Best Indie Debut’ nomination at The Game Awards that year. The nomination was sat alongside contendees Stray, Tunic, Neon White, and Noroc. More recently this past summer, developer Poncle grabbed attention with a new update for Vampire Survivors. In that, couch co-op would be introduced to the mix. Now this week, a new trailer revealing both PlayStation 4 & PlayStation 5 will be receiving versions for Vampire Survivors this summer. You can watch the video below: Additionally, Poncle also announced a new collaboration with Konami on a new DLC, ‘Operation Guns feat. Contra’. Yes, the classic Konami IP is crossing paths with Vampire Survivors in a new add-on coming May 9th. “Expect classic Vampire Survivors gameplay matched with the brilliance of Contra from across the years. Guns, headbands, explosions, robots, guns, aliens, did we mention guns?” The team does elaborate new achievements will not be in the DLC. “No, there are no platform level achievements for Vampire Survivors: Operation Guns. There are in-game achievements to unlock (in the Unlocks menu like normal), but no Xbox/Steam achievements. […] it’s problematic enough to have achievements in our own DLCs, but those we can easily discount often and do giveaways with, basically we’re in full control of them. “Collabs are different, there will be different business guidelines we’ll have to follow to make and publish them, which means there will always be a risk that some achievements might one day far into the future become impossible to obtain, or sit behind a price tag too steep to some players. We know people hold their 100% achievements unlocked status in high regard, and we do our best to make sure that is achievable for everyone and not the few.” Are you excited for the new updates coming to Vampire Survivors? Vampire Survivors hits PlayStation 4 & PlayStation 5 sometime in summer 2024; out now for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Source: Poncle

Newest Xbox Insider Build Adds Xbox UI Interface For PC App

Upon exploring more features that could improve the Xbox platform, there are avenues that the teams at Microsoft can take in doing so. Some of the updates from last year have shown to be beneficial to say the least. For example, enabling Venmo payment options for the Microsoft store is one aspect many are excited to see hit the platform. Additionally, the same can also be said for Compact Mode that arrived in the November 2023 update intended for smaller screens when streaming games on the go. Another appreciated title update came just the month prior with Clipchamp integration which bridged the service with the Xbox app to enable more options to edit captures. In a new update that rolled out for Xbox Insiders this week, PC players will notice a major upgrade to the desktop app. Now, users can indulge in a new interface that was grabbed directly from the Xbox console. This includes viewing friends, messages, achievements, and notifications. “Starting today, Xbox Insiders can preview updated social features when using supported browsers, the Xbox app for Smart TVs, and Meta Quest Headsets,” the blog post reads. The Xbox Insiders update extends to PC as well as other Xbox Cloud Gaming peripherals as well. So rather than using the dedicated app, you can now run these features through browser which adds to the immersion for Xbox Cloud Gaming. Elsewhere this week, Microsoft also rolled out new Game Hub features for PC. Now via the Xbox app, users can access game progress, manage add-ons, and even view updates from respected developer game pages. You can read the full report by heading here. More Than A Decade Later Footage From A Canceled ‘Nolanverse’ Batman Game Surfaces Online

In the array of DC Comic media, specifically Batman, there has been a continued outpour of content for most of this side of the new millennium. However, after the release of Rocksteady Games’ Batman Arkham trilogy, The Dark Knight has been out of the spotlight for roughly a decade. Previously, there were leaks of a canceled Damien Wayne project that was shuttered at Warner Bros. Montreal that could have been a continuation of that. Additionally, 2024 did technically proceed that continuity with Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League in January. But, the live-service approach has been broadly denounced as a sequel of any sorts by many users online. Thankfully, in an update by James Gunn, he does clarify that the Batman ‘Arkhamverse’ does not end with the new game – as per being the creative overseer for the new DC Studios. Well, recently a new perspective was added to what could’ve been for the Caped Crusader thanks to a batch of leaks via Archive.org. And with @Dageekydude on X bringing this to light, it is learned that a planned Batman game set within the Christopher Nolan film series was in the works at one point. From Monolith Productions, the team known for the Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor IP, the project takes heavy inspiration from the first two films. Titled ‘Project Apollo’, the game was said to prospect a 2010 release window for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. However, conflicting with an already-established franchise by Rocksteady Studios & work commencing on a third Nolan film at the time led the game to its demise. Footage from the shelved title does share elements of open-world traversal, detective features, and light combat & stealth gameplay. One major element that was introduced as the now-notorious ‘Nemesis System’. After being canceled, it is believed that Warner Bros. urged the team to refocus on a Middle-Earth project and took its tools to what became the 2014 title.  What becomes very evident is Monolith in preserving the UI from prior Nolanverse games. In 2004, a licensed Batman Begins title from Eurocom released featuring a nearly identical interface and design that likely influenced Project Apollo. The batmobile was also said to be instrumental in the title as well, but the X user clarifies it would act more in line to Mordor’s Caragors as a tool rather than a necessity for the game. While Monolith Productions ultimately did not make this DC Comics title, a new effort is underway. Back in 2021, the game studio announced a new Wonder Woman project is in development and the trademarked nemesis system is also planned to make a return. You can read the full report by heading here. Hidden code suggests Marvel Rivals will come to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S

Marvel Rivals was announced by NetEase and Marvel Games and they confirmed the Super Hero Team-based PVP Shooter will be coming to PC in the future. On top of that they announced a closed alpha test will happen in May and players can sign up for that now if they’d like to participate. Will Marvel Rivals come to consoles? It was already reported prior to the announcement, but a new leak proves Marvel Rivals will come to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Dreamz Gaming on X (Twitter) found some hidden code in the Marvel Rivals website which would showcase the other platforms you can play the game on. On the list, you can see Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Marvel Rivals is best compared to Overwatch when it comes to its gameplay and the wide variety of heroes you can choose from. What’s not similar to Overwatch is that Marvel Rivals is a third-person shooter. The new Marvel game will feature Creative Environment Destruction, Dynamic Hero Synergy, and Seasonal Updates that will introduce new Super Heroes to the game. A console version had already been reported by a known insider, Kurakasis when he shared prior to the game’s announcement that it would come to consoles and PC, but unsure of a mobile release. I've received some new details about Marvel Rivals: There is also a Hybrid mode like in Overwatch The majority of people who contacted me have heard about the console version (in addition to PC), but no one mentioned the game coming to mobile There is a Spider-Punk skin — Kurakasis (@Kurakasis) March 26, 2024
