Concord To Launch August 2024 For PlayStation 5 And PC

This past February, corporate Sony broke the seal on PlayStation’s plans for its release itinerary for 2024. To limit expectations, it was confidently confirmed that many legacy franchises for PlayStation will be absent. It was indicated that instead new games – namely part of the live-service push – would be the main focus for the platform this year. One major IP is Bungie’s Marathon. Whilst a multiplatform release, it was still a live-service PlayStation Studios effort. However, the game would instead be releasing sometime next year after it was reported to face delays internally. Additionally, another product of the live-service initiative is Concord. Announced last year, it would be a new PvP-centered shooter from Firewalk Studios. At the May 2024 State of Play, Concord shared its first glimpse of gameplay revealing an August release date for the game. You can watch the gameplay trailer in the video below: “In Concord, you play as the crew of the Northstar—a group of guns-for-hire known in our galaxy as Freegunners. The Freegunners roam the stars taking high-stakes jobs on worlds across Wild space, where they face other fiercely competitive Freegunner crews. From match-to-match, you’ll form your team of Freegunners with other players and battle it out with rival crews to take home the reward across a variety of maps and modes.” “We built Concord as a love-letter to aspirational sci-fi adventure, inspired by our favorite art, anime, films, and TV series,” game director Ryan Ellis writes. “Combined with our deep love of multiplayer, we’re dedicated to creating those had-to-be-there, down to the wire moments with your friends and creating a sense of adventure as you discover more about the galaxy, the characters you play as, and the worlds you visit every time you log on.” Are you excited for Concord? Not to mention the casting announcement for Jack Black (The Super Mario Bros. Movie) to portray Steve. Offline Mode, Single Player Pausing, And More Quality Of Life Improvements Arrives In Redfall’s Final Update Today

Although introduced as a promising new experience after the high success of Deathloop, Arkane Studios’ Redfall fell flat on its face with an underwhelming launch just over a year ago. And in that time the developer faced its demise just this month. Nearly a handful of Bethesda teams were shuttered by Microsoft: Alpha Dog Games, Tango Gameworks, Roundhouse Studios, and, of course, Arkane Austin. Amid the team’s push to undo the damage, Arkane did promise to atone to major fixes for the game. It pledged to feature a 60hz update. And was later shipped that following fall. One of its most-requested features was offline mode – which Arkane did share to be a priority. After the studio closure was announced, Arkane did confirm that a final update is still planned. This week, Arkane Studios rolled out its final update for Redfall which features many promised systems including offline mode and even single-player pausing too. “We’re thankful for the millions of players who have joined us. From everyone at Arkane Austin, thank you for playing our games and loving our worlds, it’s been an honor to deliver these experiences to you,” the team writes for the final update. “With the release of GU4 you will be given the option to play Redfall while disconnected from the Internet. You will also be able to continue playing if you’re disconnected from the Internet in the middle of a solo session. When playing in co-op, the host will be dropped into a solo offline session.” It continues: “Another new feature we’re happy to introduce is Single Player Pausing. Now if you need some time to adjust your kit, or you just need to step away for a minute, the world of Redfall will wait with you.” The new update also adds a new reputation system ‘Community Standing’ which accumulates your progressing based on outstanding feats and challenges completed in-game. Bethesda Reaffirms New Games For Fallout Are In The Pipeline

In the greater landscape that is Bethesda’s Fallout series, the games face a new wealth of players thanks to the very popular Amazon Prime Video TV series that aired this spring. In one respect, Fallout 76 alone welcomed more than 1 million players in a single day. Additionally, older titles including Fallout 4 & Fallout New Vegas both faced an influx in users as well. Even the TV show has brought impressive numbers as well. The peak viewership for Fallout when the entire first season debuted counted more than 65 million in its first two weeks. The show also opened up to the game’s canon as well. For one, Fallout New Vegas was officially considered part of the storyline. And, Todd Howard also noted that the series will stick to its American roots for future settings when new releases ship. According to a new interview with Variety, Howard yet again comments on plans for the IP. When talking about the show, he lightly presses that Bethesda is already occupied with more games confirming a new title is prepared to ship at some point. However, that wait could be well beyond a few years, it is understood. “The TV show, I feel like it took us 15 years from when I first started talking about it — but it was five years since Jonah and I first talked. And games take a good five-ish years. So we’re in plans for future games in this series, and nothing to talk about right now, but we’re always planning,” Howard shares. This is not the first time he has spoke on a new title. When speaking to IGN in 2021, Howard did press that there are certainly plans underway for Fallout to return. But at the time with Starfield in development and The Elder Scrolls VI to follow after, it would be way out there for the release to be realized. “You know, we have a one-pager on Fallout 5, what we want to do,” Howard said. Howbeit, following the success of the television series with a second season already greenlit, it is extremely clear that Bethesda has a gold mine it can tap into. According to one claim on the Xbox Two Podcast, Microsoft is looking for ways to ship a new game sooner. You can read the full report by heading here. What are you hoping a new Fallout game will be?
