Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Meta Quest Port Is Currently “On Hold”, Meta Shares

One of the biggest seller for Meta Quest in recent years is the expansion of its library. Alongside stringing together new & unique titles for its platform, legacy releases are also being adapted for virtual reality as well. One of the most effective sellers for its systems was a previous collaboration with Capcom. That was Resident Evil 4. However, Meta was not done there when the game officially released. Around the same time as the game released, Meta in part of its rebrand from Facebook shared that a new beloved classic is arriving exclusively to virtual reality. In that, Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas was to release for Meta Quest, it shared. However, the likeliness of that is slimming immensely according to a recent statement. When pressed by IGN, a spokesperson for Meta issued that the Meta Quest version for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas was “on hold indefinitely”. The outlet also uncovered YouTube responses to users shared “GTA: San Andreas is on hold indefinitely while we both focus on other projects” and “We look forward to working with our friends at Rockstar in the future.” While it does not confirm that the project is canned for good, it does not cast good light on chances of seeing Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas being realized for virtual reality. What does come as a surprised is that Meta did suggest future projects involving Rockstar Games could come. Perhaps a port for L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files? What is confirmed to be coming from Rockstar Games in the near future is Grand Theft Auto VI. Announced back in November, parent company Take-Two Interactive has confirmed that the new tentpole release is aimed to launch sometime in fall 2025. You can read the full report by heading here. New Trademark Filed By Techland For ‘Dying Light: The Beast’

From developer Techland, the Polish game studio has remained focused on its Dying Light IP for more than a decade. With the first installment releasing in 2015 followed by continued post-launch support until its sequel arrived in 2022, the same amount of attention is expected to take place for the follow-up as well. From our review for Dying Light 2, Rectify Gaming issued a 9.2/10 score for the title. “Dying Light 2 is a bigger and better game in every possible facet. The campaign is very good and has a lot of replay factor. […] Dying Light 2 great movement and deep story focus makes it a sequel worth losing a few nights of sleep over.” Recently, it was uncovered that Techland filed a new trademark for the Dying Light series. In that, it revealed ‘Dying Light: The Beast’ is a new filing from the Polish developer. The filing indicates the new trademark is intended for use under multiple classes. X user @Kurakasis indicates that the trademark is filed under class 09 & 41 which is routine for video games. “The key class for video games is international class 9. Class 41, for online services, is also common. Class 28 (linked to US class 22 you mentioned) is mostly for mobile games. This trademark has classes 9 and 41, which are standard for video games,” the user wrote in a thread on the post. Many fans are adamant on this title being a mobile title, but little has confirmed this speculation rather than being largely conjecture for now. What could be more tangible is a potential announcement nearing this month. While Techland is not listed for Gamescom Opening Night Live, Square Enix is. The Japanese firm is most notable for its attachment to Dying Light in publishing the sequel. Of course, take that as you may until proper channels announce new information on Dying Light plans. What do you think Dying Light: The Beast might be?

The Elder Scrolls: Castles Releases Next Month For Android, iOS

For Microsoft, its push to more systems is staring mobile gaming down with the platform in its crosshairs. However, there has been a sudden shake in the machine at Xbox. The recent studio closures also shuddered a mobile developer – Alpha Dog Games. The developer was most notable for its Mighty Doom title for Android & iOS. What’s more, the firm is also exploring more for mobile with an official Xbox Mobile Store domain already live. Additionally, reports indicate a new internal team between Microsoft & Activision are collaborating to focus on established IPs at a smaller scale. Now, Bethesda Game Studios is preparing to push out its next mobile game next month. The previous Early Access release The Elder Scrolls: Castles is now prepared to launch in September for both App Store & Google Play Store. You can watch the new deep dive in the video below: “Castles is the spiritual successor to Fallout Shelter, the popular vault-building mobile game that puts you in the role of an Overseer. In Castles, you’ll take on the role of the right hand of the king (or queen) and manage your kingdom. You’ll build the castle of your dreams, rule over your subjects, and make critical decisions about your kingdom’s future as you build your dynasty,” Bethesda says. “Just like Fallout Shelter, The Elder Scrolls: Castles is immediately accessible and easy to pick up and play for a short time, but it also offers a lot of depth. It has extensive lore, support for player choice, and all the little details that you expect to find in a true Bethesda Game Studios experience.” Pre-Register is now live for both Android and iOS. Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy has seen a large boost since being added to Game Pass

It looks like the addition has helped introduce the game to many more players on Xbox and PC platforms. According to TrueAchievements, they have seen Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy Xbox players increase by nearly 3,000%. The data that TrueAchievements receives uses a sample of over 2.4 million Xbox accounts and the Crash Bandicoot Trilogy has reached the Top 40 getting a 2,808% boost. Since Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard there have been a lot of expectations from fans to see more of the publisher’s games come to the best deal in gaming. The first game from the Activision acquisition to join Game Pass was Diablo IV followed by Modern Warfare II and now Crash Bandicoot, which was a nice surprise. Review: Dungeons & Degenerate Gamblers

Developer – Purple Moss Collectors Publisher – Yogscast Games Platforms – PC (Reviewed) Review copy given by Publisher Ever want to Battle your way through a seedy tavern filled with gambling-addicted townspeople who love playing blackjack? While do I ever have the game for you ! At its core, Dungeons & Degenerate Gamblers takes the familiar mechanics of blackjack and spins them into a roguelike adventure that is both exhilarating and punishing. Players navigate through a series of dungeon-like levels, each guarded by various degenerate gamblers who serve as both your opponents and gatekeepers to untold riches—or devastating losses. The game’s unique twist lies in how it marries the strategic elements of blackjack with the unpredictability of a dungeon crawler. You’re not just playing against the dealer; you’re playing against the dungeon itself. Each win moves you deeper into the abyss, where enemies grow more cunning, and the deck stacks higher against you. Special cards add layers of complexity, allowing you to manipulate the game in your favor or curse your opponent’s hand, much like the tricks and traps found in Balatro. Where Balatro thrives on deception and the art of the bluff, Dungeons & Degenerate Gamblers embraces the thrill of calculated risk. Both games require a sharp mind and a poker face, but while Balatro is about outwitting your opponents, Dungeons & Degenerate Gamblers demands you master the delicate balance between luck and strategy. You’ll find yourself weighing the odds, making split-second decisions that could lead to a jackpot—or your demise. The tension of waiting for that final card, hoping for a 21, is akin to the suspense of pulling off a perfect combo in Balatro. The game’s aesthetic is a perfect blend of dark fantasy and seedy underworld. The degenerate gamblers you face are grotesque, with designs that capture the twisted nature of their addiction to chance. This grim ambiance, paired with a soundtrack that oscillates between eerie silence and frantic crescendos, immerses players in a world where every bet could be your last. One aspect of Dungeons & Degenerate Gamblers that may catch players off guard is the sometimes perplexing nature of the card descriptions. The game introduces a wide variety of special cards, each with unique effects that can drastically alter the flow of a match. However, not all of these effects are immediately clear. Some descriptions are vague or use terminology that can be difficult to decipher, especially when you’re in the heat of the moment. In fact, I found myself so stumped by a few cards that I had to reach out to the developer for clarification. One Example is the below card , King of The Hill: Based on the card description, the way I understand this card is on Play if it is the only Face card, you have in play you instantly score 21 . However as seen in the screenshot above, it doesn’t trigger that way and shows a message that 4 other face cards are in play. After talking with the developer, this card actually means king of the hill can be the only face card in your entire hand . While the game is undeniably engaging, this aspect of the learning curve might frustrate some players, especially those who prefer to understand all the mechanics upfront. Once you do get the hang of the card effects, the game’s depth becomes more apparent, but expect a bit of trial and error ,before you fully grasp everything. Despite this initial hurdle, the complexity of the cards adds to the game’s allure, rewarding those who invest the time to master the intricacies of each deck. In the ever-expanding realm of card-based strategy games, Dungeons & Degenerate Gamblers boldly emerges as a blackjack-inspired iteration of the popular game Balatro. If Balatro is the master of strategic bluffing and deck manipulation, then Dungeons & Degenerate Gamblers is its chaotic, luck-fueled cousin, where the stakes are higher, the risks are wilder, and the rewards are as sweet as a perfectly timed blackjack.
Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable – Early Access on Meta Quest 3

Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable offers thrilling aerial combat and Titan-slaying in VR, but suffers from repetitive missions and underwhelming visuals on Meta Quest 3.
