Review: PowerA Fusion Pro Wireless and PowerA Fusion Pro 4 Wired Controllers

Product provided by manufacturer Looking for a new controller to up your gaming experience, but not sure if you should invest in a premium model? Do you really need all the bells and whistles that come with pro controllers, or will a more budget-friendly option get the job done? That’s where PowerA’s Fusion Pro series comes into play. The Fusion Pro Wired and Wireless controllers from PowerA, known for their affordable yet feature-packed designs, offer professional-level customization without breaking the bank. Is it worth it to invest in them, though? Are these controllers up to the challenge of games like Call of Duty and Overwatch, which require pinpoint accuracy? On the other hand, are they merely a collection of attractive add-ons that don’t improve the gameplay experience? In this review, I put both the PowerA Fusion Pro Wired Controller and the PowerA Fusion Pro Wireless Controller to the test on both an Xbox Series S and a gaming laptop. I was curious to see whether these controllers were as good as they seemed, in terms of trigger sensitivity and battery life. Spoiler: they certainly surprised me—but in what ways? Keep reading to see if the PowerA Fusion Pro controllers are the real deal or if you’re better off sticking with the standard options. Let’s get into it! PowerA Fusion Pro 4 Wired Controller Price: $69.99 Improve your gaming experience without emptying your bank account with the PowerA Fusion Pro 4 Wired Controller. It competes with more expensive pro-level controllers while providing exceptional value, thanks to its sturdy design and highly customizable components. Customization Features Standout features include PowerA’s patent-pending Quick-Twist Thumbsticks, which allow the user to adjust the thumbstick height. When I played for longer periods of time, I really appreciated the ability to set the thumbstick height to a position that suited my grip. With the three-way trigger locks, you can adjust the trigger depth to your preference, giving you more control in racing games or faster reactions in first-person shooters. Precision and Longevity A great improvement over conventional stick drift is the inclusion of Hall Effect modules in the thumbsticks, which supply contact-free magnetic sensors that increase accuracy and guarantee longer durability. The controller adds a new level of tactile feedback to the game with its combination of impulse triggers and dual rumble motors. Hall effect tech is simply amazing and prevents stick drift from ever being a problem. I’m looking at you Nintendo Switch!! Comfort and Build Even after hours of play, the textured rubber grips and ergonomic design keep the PowerA Fusion Pro 4 Wired Controller comfortable in your hands. Whether you’re gaming at a desk or lounging on the couch, the 10-foot braided USB-C cable gives you the freedom to stretch out without feeling restricted. It’s long enough to offer flexibility, almost as if you’re not wired at all—a welcome option when your wireless controller runs out of charge. The four mappable buttons on the back let you quickly add custom controls without diving into system menus. This makes it easy to add shortcuts or extra functions during gameplay without any hassle. In the end, the PowerA Fusion Pro 4 Wired Controller strikes a great balance between performance, customization, and durability. For those seeking a pro-level experience without the steep price, it offers quality and flexibility without breaking the bank. PowerA Fusion Pro Wireless Controller Price: $149.99 When it comes to wireless options, the PowerA Fusion Pro Wireless Controller is all about customization and aesthetics. Its Lumectra RGB LED lighting really brings a hidden design to life, adding an extra level of charm. Not only is this controller aesthetically pleasing, but it also continues PowerA’s tradition of excellent performance. When not in use, I left this bad boy on its charge stand and used it like a lamp. It just looks cool! Wireless Performance and Customization My gaming laptop and Xbox Series S both had the Fusion Pro Wireless Controller set up with a simple plug-and-play process. Input lag is critical for competitive gaming, but I never experienced any with the low-latency wireless connection through the included USB adapter. The controller’s rechargeable battery promises up to 30 hours of playtime, so you can go longer between charges, which is great for gamers who like to avoid interruptions. I doubt you’ll get the full 30-hour gameplay if you’re using the LEDs and rumble but I had some pretty lengthy gaming sessions and never had to worry about it running out of juice, which is nice! Lighting and Aesthetic Appeal The model’s Ghost RGB LED lighting is one of its most distinctive characteristics. Six distinct lighting modes distributed over four individual zones give your gaming setup a one-of-a-kind, eye-catching look. It looks quite cool and pulses out light if you’re playing in the dark! Pro-Level Adjustability The wireless version, like the wired one, comes with Quick-Twist Thumbsticks that let you change the height in the middle of the game. The three-way trigger locks let you customize the trigger response to your preferred gameplay style, while the Hall Effect modules guarantee accuracy. You can also still map the four buttons on the back of the controller, allowing you to customize your gaming experience without having to go into the settings menu. Build and Comfort Even after hours of play, you’ll still have a comfortable hold thanks to the ergonomic design and textured rubber grips. Its thumbstick movement is improved by anti-friction rings, just like the wired model. A display stand and magnetic charger are also included with the wireless controller, which enhances your gaming setup with added convenience and style. Playtest with Both Controllers I put the PowerA Fusion Pro Wired and Wireless controllers through their paces on my gaming laptop and Xbox Series S, running a wide range of games to see how well they performed. All of the games in my lineup—God of War: Ragnarok, Fortnite, Far Cry 6, and Still Wakes the Deep—require lightning-fast reactions, pinpoint accuracy, and responsive controls. Both controllers performed exceptionally

Review: Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE Plus

Developer – Spike Chunsoft Co., Ltd. Publisher – Spike Chunsoft Co., Ltd. Platforms – Xbox Series S|X, PS5,Nintendo Switch,PC (Reviewed) Review copy given by Developer Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE Plus is a captivating dark fantasy detective adventure crafted by the creators of the Danganronpa series, that offers plenty for mystery-solving enthusiasts to enjoy. Set in the perpetually rain-soaked Kanai Ward, a city ruled by a powerful megacorporation, the game plunges players into a world of secrets and intrigue. Taking on the role of Yuma, a detective-in-training, you team up with the mischievous spirit Shinigami to crack unsolvable cases and expose the truth hidden within the shadows of the city. The story revolves around a detective agency filled with Master Detectives, each possessing unique abilities, called Forensic Fortes, that give them an edge in cracking open complex cases. Yuma, despite his trainee status, embarks on these investigations with the help of his eccentric and ever-present spirit companion, Shinigami. The dynamic between Yuma and Shinigami provides much of the game’s charm, balancing the dark atmosphere with some light-hearted banter. The gameplay flows between real-world investigation and supernatural action sequences. Yuma explores Kanai Ward, talking to witnesses, investigating crime scenes, and gathering clues—known as “Solution Keys.” Each case presents its own set of challenges, from uncovering the identities of mysterious figures to piecing together cryptic evidence. One of the standout elements of RAIN CODE Plus is the “Mystery Labyrinth.” Once enough clues have been gathered, the investigation culminates in this otherworldly realm where the mysteries take on physical form. These labyrinths are filled with puzzles, traps, and obstacles that test not only Yuma’s deductive skills but also the player’s reflexes. It’s a thrilling and fast-paced sequence that turns detective work into an action-packed battle of wits. The game’s combat-like system, called “Reasoning Death Matches,” is a unique addition to the detective genre. Here, Yuma faces off against a “Mystery Phantom,” a figure that attempts to obscure the truth. Armed with the Solution Blade, players must slash through the lies and deceptions of the phantom using the clues they’ve gathered. The mix of quick reflexes and critical thinking in these sequences keeps players on their toes. Forensic Fortes play a significant role in both the investigation and labyrinth sequences. The Master Detectives accompanying Yuma have abilities like “Postcognition,” which allows them to view past events, or “Disguise,” which helps them impersonate others. These skills are essential in uncovering hidden evidence and gathering testimony that normal detectives wouldn’t be able to find. Each Master Detective has their own personality and backstory, adding depth to the characters you meet along the way. The Plus version of the game introduces additional content and improvements that fans of the original will appreciate. Visually, the game has been enhanced for 4K compatibility, and overall performance is smoother, making exploration and battles more seamless. A new gallery mode lets players enjoy the game’s stunning cinematics and atmospheric background music, which is a welcome addition for those who want to revisit certain moments without replaying entire sections. One of the highlights of the Plus version is the introduction of five new substories that focus on different Master Detectives. These chapters offer more insight into the characters that help Yuma throughout his journey. For instance, “Charisma Killed the Cat” delves into Desuhiko’s intriguing charisma, while “The Near-Death Detective” explores Vivia’s life and near-death experiences. These added stories provide fresh perspectives and enrich the overall narrative experience. Subquests also add to the game’s depth, as players can help citizens in need and fulfill special requests scattered throughout Kanai Ward. These side missions aren’t just filler content—they provide insight into the city’s corrupt underbelly and often reward players with valuable Memory Shards. These shards unlock secret memories between Yuma and the other detectives, offering glimpses into their relationships and personal histories. Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE Plus is a compelling blend of detective work, action, and fantasy that keeps players engaged from start to finish. The dark narrative and complex mysteries are perfectly complemented by fast-paced sequences and deep character development. With the added bonus of new content in the Plus edition, including the extra subchapters and performance upgrades, the game stands as a must-play for both mystery enthusiasts and fans of the Danganronpa series. If you’re ready to step into a world of endless rain and unsolved crimes, RAIN CODE Plus offers an immersive and unforgettable journey.
While PlayStation 5 Pro Still Hasn’t Sold Out, Requirements Are Set For The 30th Anniversary Edition In Japan

For the past couple of weeks, discourse among PlayStation fans commenced since Sony revealed the PlayStation 5 Pro. Not only is the console a step up from the base model, but it asks for $699 upfront and requires purchasing a disc drive separately as well. According to Ampere Analysis, this hubris approach is blamed on the lacking competition in the market against PlayStation currently. And although there is room to argue the benefits over the cost of the PlayStation 5 Pro, there are also gaping holes in that discussion too. While over 50 titles are prepared to launch with PlayStation 5 Pro enhancements, some are absent from the conversation. One many are hoping is Grand Theft Auto VI. But according to Digital Foundry, the current CPU in the system is likely withholding the system from achieving premium output like 60hz with 4K like as promised. Alongside the additional PlayStation 5 Pro 30th Anniversary Edition also on the way, many are interested in how the market will respond to these high priced systems. At least for the standard PlayStation 5 Pro, the game is still available to pre-order via PlayStation Direct. The Verge points this out as of two weeks since the console’s announcement. What’s more is that the PlayStation 5 Pro 30th Anniversary Edition did actually sell out even with a higher price tag. In both the United States & United Kingdom, the PlayStation 1-themed PlayStation 5 Pro is now unavailable. But in Japan the system is still available. Despite only minting 12,300 units, Sony is exploring a new approach in its home market. As per Video Game Chronicle, the limited edition console is only available to users that sign-in to the PlayStation Store with an account that was active on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 between February 22nd and September 19th. Pre-orders will remain live in Japan until October 14th. It is also indicated that a lottery will take place if availability outweighs pre-orders. Are you surprised by the current state for PlayStation 5 Pro?
Season 3 For Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League Adds New Character Lawless, Out Today

This year kicked off with the launch of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. However, the reception of the game has left a negative impact on Warner Bros. as many are well aware. The game was reported to be a $200 million loss for the publisher. Alongside that, promised DLC for the game appears to only be the main focus for Rocksteady Studios when IGN pressed on content after the initial roadmap. Thus far, the developer has delivered on its commitment to those still playing. In March, Season 1 arrived with The Joker as a playable character. Then in July, Season 2 rolled out including Mrs. Freeze as the next playable addition. And with more on the way, it is already understood the studio is working on a new game. Insider Nick Baker said the team has returned to its roots developing a new Batman title as of late. This week, Rocksteady Studios returns with a new season for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. On Tuesday October 1st, Season 3 for the base game will go live featuring the addition of new playable character Lawless. Tied to Deadshot’s bloodline, daughter Zoey Lawton joins Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League as the newest addition. The roadmap for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is also showing to be thriving with new additions as well. Episode 5: Thieves prepared for Season 3 comes with a slew of new in-game items including unique weapons and even a melee weapon pack themed after the addition of Lawless. Of course, a new battle pass is introduced with promises with “ever changing Metropolis’ to the game’s map and the Green Lantern & Superman Brainiac Fight as well. Then in Episode 6: Scoundrels, more of the same is laid out for the update when it arrives. Of course, there are newly featured Infamy Sets & Notorious Gear for players to unlock alongside some untitled Elseworld maps on the way too. Most notable is the new mid-season raid Superman Brainiac Fight that is releasing. Are you still playing Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League? Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is out now for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
PlayStation Users Find New Ad Feature On PS5, Sony Says This “Technical Error” Has Been Fixed

When it comes to publishers & even platform holders, increased revenue has continued to be a driving factor for the industry alike any market. From the likes of Microsoft & Sony, both firms are eagerly investing in more advertising. We’ve seen this in the past with the Las Vegas Sphere last year in 2023. In one report, it was identified that both are looking for new ways to bring advertisements to its consoles as well. Additionally, we are also seeing these in video games as well. While not entirely embraced, select titles already do this using real-world brands like sports & racing titles. However, dynamic advertisements are in the works as well. From Ubisoft, the publisher alongside Anzu revealed progress on this effort with Trackmania to feature new advertisements in games. Over on PlayStation, it appeared that advertisements were coming to the platform on PlayStation 5’s home screen. On Reddit, it was reported that the feature came in a new update which featured video footage and other related images for the respected property. Howbeit, PlayStation did signify this to be a “technical error” which has since then been fixed. Notably, the PlayStation Store has faced shortcomings with its listings in the past. Upon release, the PlayStation 5 Store did find a slew of titles that were improperly listed or just absent from select categories. Speaking to Rectify Gaming, GamePitt did elaborate that much of these problems could be resolved if Sony was active on the matter. Whether or not PlayStation plans to explore advertising on its core platform has still yet to be denounced by Sony as of yet. Although this issue was resolved, if it were to be fully implemented would be unavoidable for users. @alfredobofa on X illustrates this as disabling features does not remove the advertisements. Similarly, Xbox already features ads on its dashboard including select instances of pop-ups when booting the console. Are you surprised by this new instance on PlayStation?

Star Wars Outlaws reportedly sold only 1 million units in its first month

Star Wars Outlaws is Ubisoft’s latest release and has overwhelmingly received negative feedback from players. At launch, the game had its issues which Ubisoft eventually fixed and recently they updated the roadmap for new content coming soon. It was recently announced that Star Wars Outlaws will come to Steam in November. According to Insider Gaming, Star Wars Outlaws has only sold 1 million units in its first month of release. Obviously, this is not the amount of sales that Ubisoft expected. With the performance of Outlaws and the comments made by the publisher lately, it’s also part of the reason we saw a delay for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Ubisoft hasn’t officially revealed the sales number for Star Wars Outlaws yet. The outlet reporting wasn’t able to obtain the expected sales figure for the game. However, their sources provided the current sales figure that shows Outlaws only sold 1 million units. In our review for Star Wars Outaws, we share the game is visually stunning, but beneath its beauty, there are some rough edges scoring it a 7 out of 10.
