S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl already sold 1 million copies
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl has finally released across PC and Xbox Series X|S as of November 20, 2024. After years of development and numerous delays, GSC Game World has achieved success with the game. Within its first two days of release, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 has sold over 1 million copies worldwide. The announcement was made on Friday, November 22, 2024, on social media where GSC Game World thanked all of its community. Not only has S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl sold over 1 million copies. It has reached an all-time peak on Steam of over 117K concurrent players within its first day. Not every launch is perfect. The community has reported multiple in-game bugs, some of which have already been addressed. GSC Game World asks players to submit feedback on its support website so they can make the best experience possible for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl.
Black Ops 6 release did not provide a boost to Xbox Series sales
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was launched almost a month ago already and sales results have slowly started to come out for the game. Phil Spencer already mentioned that Xbox is the most-played platform for Black Ops 6 which likely means both PC and Xbox. However, it looks like the release did not help boost sales for Xbox Series hardware. According to industry insider, Mat Piscatella, the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 “did not provide a significant boost to Xbox Series hardware.” On the positive side of business for Microsoft, it did boost subscription spending since Black Ops 6 is available through Game Pass. It’s also worth noting that this is related to the United States. It is unknown if Xbox sales received a boost in other regions. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is undoubtedly the best game in the series in at least five years. Farming Simulator 25 sold 2 million copies in its first week
Farming Simulator 25 was released on November 12, 2024, for PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S and the franchise has continued to grow and reach new milestones. Developer and Publisher, Giants Software announced that Farming Simulator 25 already sold 2 million copies in its first week of launch. Compared to its predecessor in 2021, the latest Farming Simulator title saw a large increase in its first week of release. It surpassed the previous record of 1.5 million copies sold in a week which was held by Farming Simulator 22. It doesn’t stop there as Farming Simulator 25 outperformed other releases on Steam’s Top Sellers charts with over 125K concurrent players on the platform. “Farming Simulator 25 marks our most successful launch yet and proves that our bond with the community has grown even stronger. Their enthusiasm and support is not only at the heart of our success, but a driving force behind our continued commitment to delivering an unparalleled and satisfying farming experience. The launch was just the start for FS25.” The Farming Simulator series has now sold more than 40 million copies worldwide since it started many years ago. Giants Software also confirmed there will be constant updates coming to the game that will improve the experience.
Limited Run Games is partnering with GameStop this holiday season
Today. the premier publisher of physical video games and special editions, Limited Run Games announced they have partnered with GameStop to sell retro titles at GameStop Retro stores. There will be 16 retro games available in-store across the country. These re-releases are also compatible with their original retro systems like the NES, SNES, and Game Boy, and modern replicas such as the Analogue Pocket. Shenmue III Publishing Rights Find New Home At ININ Games
The legacy of Sega’s Shenmue franchise certainly holds weight even now. Although the series is not as prevalent as Ryu Ga Gotoku’s Yakuza/Like a Dragon, the formula is certainly a catalyst for what came later on for that series. But, the Shenmue series did find new traction with an animated series that did air on Crunchyroll back in 2021. Additionally, the long-awaited third entry in the series also released as well. As part of a crowdfunded effort, Shenmue III arrived to PlayStation 4 & PC. However, there are no signs of an Xbox port. Even publisher Deep Silver denounced plans for the game. This comes as a surprise as the original two games – Shenmue & Shenmue II – are both available on Xbox alongside PlayStation as well. In a new press release from ININ Games, the firm reveals that it has now acquired the publishing rights to Shenmue III. This announcement does open for new opportunity for Shenmue offering more ports of the latest game or even new titles altogether. Reebok Reveals New Sonic The Hedgehog Collaboration Ahead Of The New Film
Collaborations for video games have and continue to bring new merchandise all around for fans of selective franchises. Especially footwear. In the past, we’ve witnessed this with Adidas most notably. Celebrating the history of Xbox, it showcased three different shoes for the platform: Original Xbox ‘Adidas Forum Tech’, Xbox 360 ‘The Xbox 360 Forum Mid’, and Xbox Series X ‘Forum Tech Boost’. Additionally, Adidas & Microsoft teamed up once more with another surprise Xbox-designed shoe. In 2023, it featured the Themed D.O.N. Issue #4 Basketball Shoes which used the Xbox logo as the garnish on the tongue of the shoe. Even more, the firm also featured PlayStation apparel too. Amid the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, specialized Ultrad 4D Advanced Mens Shoes were unveiled as well. Now in anticipation for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 hitting theaters in December, Sega, Paramount, and Reebok reveal a new shoe line in collaboration for the new film.
