Indiana Jones and the Great Circle reached over four million players

indiana jones and the great circle four million players

In December, MachineGames and Bethesda released Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on Xbox Series X|S and PC. It was also released on Game Pass the day it launched. Microsoft released its second-quarter earnings today and revealed the game has seen a lot of traction. According to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has been played by over four million players.  “We saw rave reviews of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, which has already been played by more than four million people.” The game was also well received by many critics averaging an 87 on Metacritic. Currently, MachineGames is developing story DLC for the Great Circle. It was also revealed that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be coming to PlayStation 5 in Spring 2025. While Indiana Jones and Call of Duty are looking to be successful releases for Microsoft, Xbox console sales are down yet again. It’s not surprising to see hardware sales be down again for Xbox as they now plan to release more of its games on other platforms.  There’s no question that Game Pass has helped the Great Circle reach over four million players. When it releases on PlayStation 5 that number will likely grow even more.  Source: VGC

After 2025 PlayStation 4 Benefits Will Be Removed From PlayStation Plus, Sony Reveals

Although the Xbox Series X|S & PlayStation 5 has remained the pinnacle for the current generation, there has been a lingering emphasis on last-generation systems as well. Despite the newer hardware, Xbox One as well as PlayStation 4 has yet to be left behind. But it has already facing those symptoms. On Microsoft’s turf, the firm started with then-Xbox Games with Gold. The Xbox Live program in 2022 revealed it would be removing Xbox 360 titles from the service which also introduced the official cutoff for the console too. As for Xbox One, Xbox Game Studios boss Matt Booty in 2023 announced that the firm is now focusing solely on Xbox Series X|S releases for the forthcoming future. This week, a similar turn of events will also be in place on PlayStation as well. After continued cross-platform support through PlayStation Plus, Sony Interactive Entertainment is pulling the plug for PlayStation 4 perks in the service starting next year. Starting January 2026, there will be no offerings for the PlayStation 4 with PlayStation 5 the sole focus. “As many of our players are currently playing on PS5 and have shifted toward redeeming and accessing PS5 titles from the Monthly Games and Game Catalog benefit, PlayStation Plus is also evolving with this trend and will focus on offering PS5 titles through the Monthly Games and Game Catalog benefit starting January 2026. As we shift to PS5, PS4 games will no longer be a key benefit and will only be occasionally offered for PlayStation Plus Monthly Games and Game Catalog starting January 2026. “We may still provide titles that can be playable on both PS4 and PS5 consoles after this date. Please note, this won’t affect the PS4 Monthly Games that you have already redeemed from PlayStation Plus. You’ll continue to have access to games you’ve already redeemed as long as you remain a member.  For Game Catalog, PS4 games will still be available to play until it leaves the catalog as part of our monthly refresh.” Sony Interactive entertainment director of Game Services – Content Adam Michel continues: “We’ll continue to evolve the experience of PlayStation Plus and optimize the benefits you receive, including exclusive discounts, online multiplayer access, online game save storage and more. As we shift our focus to PS5, we look forward to adding new PS5 titles monthly for you to enjoy.” Are you surprised by the decision from PlayStation? Source: PlayStation Blog

After the eventful year that was 2024, Sony Interactive Entertainment’s itinerary for the now-present 2025 did not let up. In regards to its PlayStation Plus free titles, the service would continue to offer more games that would keep your backlog from being short. Those games were It Takes Two, Aliens: Dark Descent, And Temtem then. Additionally, PlayStation Plus for Extra & Premium members also reap the benefits for its higher tiers later on in the month. At half mast of January 2025, a list of new additions as part of the subscriptions’ Game Catalog was revealed. The lineup included Like A Dragon Gaiden, God Of War: Ragnarok, and Orcs Must Die! 3 just to list a few. Now entering February in just a few short days, Sony Interactive Entertainment is moving forward with the next phase of free titles for all PlayStation Plus members. Although this month’s games are still available, the new batch for the approaching month are: Payday 3, High on Life, and Pac-Man World Re-Pac. “Payday 3 can be an enjoyable experience as long as you have a great source of teammates and enjoy challenging yourself. PlayStation Incentivizes PSN Integration On PC For Select Titles To Offer In-Game Items

Although no one on PC is complaining about the growing flow of first-party PlayStation titles on PC, the larger concern is about PlayStation Network integration. Since the launch of Helldivers 2 nearly a year ago, Sony’s enforcement to sign-in for its titles did remain overbearing. Enough that the firm ultimately pulled the action for the game. But, that would still be in place for other PlayStation titles instead. With other releases including God of War: Raganrok, Until Dawn, and the upcoming Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, it was path that the PlayStation firm was not asking for permission. Even in a financial Q&A, representatives disclosed that there is no plans to cease on PlayStation Network requirements on PC. Now firmly set into 2025, Sony Interactive Entertainment has revealed that the PlayStation Network requirements on PC will now be an option for users. To incentivize connecting the PlayStation Network, the PlayStation firm has shared that there will be unique in-game items available exclusively through linking your account on PC. “Starting with tomorrow’s release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 for PC, we’re working to add more benefits to playing with an account for PlayStation Network. The Last of Us Part II Remastered (coming April 3, 2025), in addition to God of War Ragnarök and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, will all soon be adding in-game content unlocks for PlayStation Network account users,” senior vice president of Studio Business Group & Head of Publishing Asad Qizilbash says. “An account for PlayStation Network will become optional for these titles on PC. Players who still opt to sign into a PlayStation Network account will also enjoy added benefits like trophies and friend management. […] Game creators at PlayStation Studios will continue to work on bringing more benefits to players who sign up for a PlayStation Network account, so be sure to follow studio channels for more information.” Are you surprised by this new decision from Sony Interactive Entertainment?
