Beyond Two Souls Television Series Picks Up Momentum Under Elliot Page After Acquiring Rights From Quantic Dream

Although initially a PlayStation exclusive IP, Quantic Dream’s Beyond Two Souls has since went on to become a multiplatform release on PC back in 2020. And while the game alongside Heavy Rain & Detroit: Become Human shipped outside of PlayStation, there has been little updates on the titles for more platforms. But, Elliot Page’s Pageboy Productions this past week has shared a new update on the IP. It was reported by Deadline that in an arrangement with Quantic Dream, Pageboy Productions acquired the rights for Beyond Two Souls in an effort to adapt the 2013 title into a live-action television series. Page alongside Willem DaFoe starred in the game, however, it has yet to be addressed if both will reprise their roles for the new adaptation. “Filming the game was one of the most challenging and fulfilling acting experiences of my career. The story’s rich narrative and emotional depth offer us a fantastic foundation. We want to create a unique vision of the characters and their journeys that resonates with fans and newcomers,” Page says in a statement to Deadline. “We are absolutely thrilled to collaborate again with Elliot Page on this project. I was blown away by his acting performance in the game, and I couldn’t think of anyone else to tell this story with the same passion on another medium. Beyond: Two Souls is a very special game for millions of players around the world who were moved by the story of Jodie and Aiden, and their journey in life and beyond. I know that Elliot has all the talent and instinct to make it something really unique on TV,” David Cage, Quantic Dream writer added. Pageboy Productions head of development and production Matt Jordan Smith added: “This adaptation will honor the game’s legacy while inviting fresh perspectives. Delving into questions of survival and how split-second decisions can alter not just our lives, but the lives of others, are key to telling the story.” Are you excited for this new update for Beyond Two Souls? Sleeping Dogs Movie In Motion With Shang-Chi Star Simu Liu To Produce & Star, Says Report

The Sleeping Dogs series which released more than a decade ago still remains a staple that even outlived its developer. Although initially releasing in 2012, the game did face additional support for Xbox One & PlayStation 4 in 2014. While plans for a sequel were in the works, developer United Front Games did eventually shelve the effort. By 2016, the Canadian game studio officially closed its doors. Despite the downfall of the team that pieced together Sleeping Dogs, the vision for the IP was still shining for Square Enix. Announced in 2017, a live-action film was put in motion with Donnie Yen said to be attached to star in the picture. But even years later with Sleeping Dogs ownership being handed to Embracer Group, the film has still yet to properly enter production. Recently in a report with Polygon, Donnie Yen did confirm that chances for the film to be realized is not likely after years of effort to get it in motion. “I waited for years. Years. And I really want to do it. I have all these visions in my head, and unfortunately… I don’t know, you know how Hollywood goes, right? I spent many, many years on it. It was an unfortunate thing.” According to IGN, sources familiar with the Sleeping Dogs film has now relayed that things are moving fast for the film. This comes simply days after Shang-Chi actor Simu Liu shared interest online to take on the mantle after the grim outcome of Donnie Yen’s Sleeping Dogs. “Working with the rights holders to bring Sleeping Dogs to the big screen!” he expressed in a post on X. Liu is said to produce & star in the picture. The outlet can certify that Story Kitchen is attached to produce this new version of the Sleeping Dogs film. Story Kitchen is recognized for its efforts with Sonic the Hedgehog at Paramount, Tomb Raider at Netflix, and the upcoming It Takes Two for Amazon. Prior, Story Kitchen did share that a Just Cause film is underway with Blue Beetle director Ángel Manuel Soto to take that role. You can read the full report by heading here. New Footage For Netflix Devil May Cry Animated Series Shares April 3rd Release

At Netflix, the streamer has remained busy further investing in its animated efforts. More specifically in gaming. Plenty of that is thanks to the initial hit that was Castlevania. The TV series from Adi Shakar went on to feature three full seasons and even a spin-off series too. Just recently, Castlevania: Nocturne just rolled out Season 2 this past month. Additionally, Shakar has also been involved in other Netflix video game animated shows. In 2023, Shakar was attached in the TV series ‘Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix’. One highly-anticipated series that has sprinkled new information is Devil May Cry. Announced back in 2018, Netflix has silently been working on the show. By fall 2023, the first teaser was revealed. A proper trailer was later released issuing an April 2025 release window for Devil May Cry. Again, A New Resident Evil Reboot Is Coming With Barbarian Director Attached

Since the global pandemic, efforts to reboot the Resident Evil franchise in live-action has not landed thus far. In 2021, the film ‘Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City’ offered a promising adaptation of the series in its promotion, but when releasing in theaters has left fans underwhelmed to say the least. Additionally, Netflix also took a jab at live-action Resident Evil. After success with The Witcher, Resident Evil could be the next major franchise on the streamer. However, the TV series ended up performing similarly to the film before it. Enough that the reception for the first season dismantled any chances for a second season to come after it. Recently, The Hollywood Reporter has gathered that a new reboot is in the works. As of reporting, the film is currently in the crosshairs of Warner Bros, Netflix, and two other unnamed studios. Alike prior Resident Evil pictures before it, Constantin Films will produce the new reboot for Resident Evil. Alongside it, PlayStation Productions will also be attached to produces as well. Behind the scenes, it is understood that Zach Cregger is pinned to direct. Cregger known for his acting in shows like The Whitest Kids U’Know earned his director moniker with the surprising release with Barbarian. Next to him, Shay Hatten (John Wick: Chapter 4, Army of the Dead) will also be involved to pen the script for this new Resident Evil reboot. Details on casting has yet to be disclosed. Among its new effort to recenter Resident Evil, Capcom also has plans for another one of its franchises on the silver screen. Previously, it was announced that a live-action Street Fighter film is on the way at Legendary Pictures & Sony Pictures. It plans to release in March 2026. You can read report by heading here. Electronic Arts Forms Battlefield Studios, New Community-led Effort ‘Battlefield Labs’ Announced

Although Electronic Arts is certainly not done with the Battlefield franchise, the publisher for sure is certain to release a new installment. Despite prior efforts, DICE has continuously fallen short to its core audience with the last couple of entries. Moving forward, it has been said that the next entry will be back in an “entirely new way” and will take the form as a “tremendous live-service”, publisher CEO Andrew Wilson touted previously. And, this is reassuring to say the least. Alongside comments indicating a full circle with titles like Battlefield 3 being mentioned, players are excited about what this could entail. Recently, InsiderGaming did report that DICE is doubling-down on internal player testing to reduce any blowback like it faced with its recent string of releases.  This week, Electronic Arts announces a new entity has formed for the future of the series – Battlefield Studios. The new banner is a compilation of studios that make up the teams behind Battlefield: Ripple Effect, EA Motive, DICE and Criterion Games. You can watch the new trailer in the video below: “I’ve been playing Battlefield long before I joined the team. This game has so much potential. To find that potential, with us being pre-alpha, now is the time to test the experiences our teams have been building for our upcoming launch. Battlefield Labs empowers our teams to do that,” Vince Zampella, EA Studios group general manager says on the newly revealed Battlefield Labs. In tow with the InsiderGaming report, Battlefield Labs will be a community-driven effort to shape the future for the franchise. “Battlefield Labs is a place for us to test concepts and experiences we’re excited about with you, our players. We want our community to play a key role in the future of Battlefield and this is an opportunity for many of you to do just that. We will test (almost) everything but not everything you see will be complete. To ensure that your feedback has impact, players will experience, under NDA, different pieces of an unfinished puzzle so we have time to incorporate your feedback into the final product.” It continues: “This is an unprecedented moment for Battlefield. We will start by testing the pillars of play, like core combat and destruction. Then transition to balance and feedback for our weapons, vehicles and gadgets, ultimately leading to where all these pieces come together in our maps, modes, and squad play.” Similarly, Halo has been restructured in that same form. In October, 343 Industries announced a rebrand for the developer with a new moniker, Halo Studios. The firm shared a new power structure would be in place and that its current effort with the Slipspace Engine would be no more now embracing Unreal Engine 5 for Halo.
