Review: Sword of the Necromancer: Resurrection

At its heart, it is an emotional tale about Tama, a former bandit turned bodyguard, who risks everything to bring back her beloved Koko. This 3D remake of the original expands upon its narrative with new cinematics and additional details, making the experience feel richer and more engaging than before. Tama’s relationship with Koko is the emotional core of the story. Through flashbacks and dialogue, we see their bond, which makes Koko’s death all the more devastating. Resurrection expands on their dynamic, adding depth to both characters and making their journey feel meaningful. The game also raises compelling moral questions: Should the dead be brought back? Is love enough to justify breaking the natural cycle? The shift to 3D graphics brings a new level of immersion, with environments that evoke a nostalgic feel. Some areas are beautifully detailed, showcasing eerie dungeon corridors and well-crafted enemy designs. However, other sections feel rushed, with textures and models that lack the same level of polish. This inconsistency can be jarring, pulling the player out of the experience at times. Despite these graphical inconsistencies, the game’s atmosphere remains strong. The remastered soundtrack blends haunting melodies with intense battle tracks, reinforcing the emotional weight of Tama’s journey. The new compositions effectively set the mood, ensuring the player remains immersed in the world. Gameplay complements the narrative well. The revamped combat system is more fluid and engaging, allowing for fast-paced encounters. Tama’s ability to revive fallen foes and turn them into allies remains a standout mechanic. The new “Tactics” system adds an extra layer of strategy, making combat more dynamic and engaging. Procedurally generated dungeons add replayability, ensuring that each playthrough feels slightly different. The addition of a Roguelite mode provides an extra challenge, while local co-op mode allows a second player to join Tama on her journey, offering a fun alternative to solo play. Ultimately, Sword of the Necromancer: Resurrection delivers a more refined and emotionally charged version of its original story. While graphical inconsistencies hold it back from being a truly polished experience, the emotional depth and improved gameplay make it a worthy return to Tama and Koko’s tragic yet beautiful tale.

Dom Toretto is coming to Fortnite, it’s claimed

Fortnite has been attempting to do every crossover possible from what it seems like. We have seen collaborations with video games, influencers, movies, television shows, and more. Epic Games is going to continue to bring more into Fortnite including Dom Toretto. According to Fortnite leaker, Loolo_WRLD on X (Twitter), Fast & Furious skins are coming to the Battle Royale soon. It’s expected that a Dom Toretto and Han Lue skin will be coming to Fortnite. However, there could be more to come including vehicles and other characters from the series. Is Halo Coming To PlayStation 5?

Microsoft as of late has been adding more of its games to other platforms. We recently have seen Sea of Thieves, Hi-Fi Rush, Grounded, and Pentiment come to PlayStation 5. What we haven’t seen yet was the most iconic Xbox games such as Halo and Gears of War. According to previous rumors, Xbox Game Studios is planning to bring Halo: The Master Chief Collection to other platforms including Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5. When Will Halo Come To PlayStation 5? Phil Spencer, the CEO of Microsoft Gaming, stated in an interview this year that there is no specific restriction on which Xbox games will be available on other platforms. While there are rumors of Halo: The Master Chief Collection coming to PS5 it seems more likely that the Halo franchise is going to arrive on Sony’s console in 2025. It is unclear if Halo Infinite and Halo 5: Guardians will also come to PlayStation 5, but allowing players to experience the beginning of the Master Chief era would make sense.

Halo: MCC – How To Unlock You Are The Weapon Achievement

Halo: MCC is full of achievements and to be exact there are 700 for players to unlock. There are five games within Halo: MCC and each of them has its own achievements in the Campaign including Halo: Combat Evolved. For Halo: Combat Evolved in The Master Chief Collection there are achievements for killing a certain amount of hunters. One of the achievements is to ‘Kill a Hunter with one pistol round’.  You Are The Weapon Achievement Guide The pistol in Halo: Combat Evolved is known for its lethal one-shot to the Hunters in Campaign. This is an easy achievement and it’s recommended to do this on The Silent Cartographer.  Play The Silent Cartographer on Easy difficulty. Then once you start the mission, go past the first objective and you’ll be led to a narrow path. Kill the enemies along the narrow path where you’ll run into two Hunters.  To unlock the You Are The Weapon achievement aim at the red weak spot on the back of the Hunters. First, get close to the Hunter and it will then run towards you exposing its back. You’ll want to move to the side and turn around to one-shot the Hunter.  This achievement may take you a few tries, but you can always restart at the last checkpoint until you eventually land the shot. 

Is Chrono Trigger On PS5?

The 1995 role-playing video game, Chrono Trigger developed and published by Square is arguably one of the best games of its time. It was originally released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System as the first entry in the Chrono series. The game sold over 3.5 million copies worldwide over time and it’s probably still counting.  Chrono Trigger eventually made its way to PlayStation 1 in 1999 and then it made its way onto the Nintendo DS in November 2008. Can You Play Chrono Trigger On PlayStation 5? Chrono Trigger is not available to play on PlayStation 5 at this time. Square Enix has not publicly shown interest in bringing the game back to modern platforms in the form of a remake or port. The only way to play Chrono Trigger on a modern platform is on PC via Steam. You could also remotely play the game on your phone or tablet along with an Xbox controller.  Square Enix has brought other games in the Chrono series to modern consoles such as Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition. It is available to play on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.  How Long Is Chrono Trigger? To complete the iconic RPG it would take about around 24 hours if you only focus on the main objectives. For completionists, you are looking at about 40 to 50 hours of gameplay to fully complete Chrono Trigger.  Games Similar To Chrono Trigger There have been tons of games inspired by arguably the best RPG from Square Enix. One of the more recent ones is Sea of Stars from Sabotage Studio. It’s the most recent release from the studio and was very well-received. Sony Provided The Reason For PSN Outage

On Friday evening going into Saturday the biggest story was that the PlayStation Network (PSN) was down for almost a full day. Eventually, PSN came back online after it was out for over 20 hours. On Sunday, in the early morning, Sony gave us the reason for the PSN outage. The reason it was down was due to “an operational issue”. They apologized for the inconvenience and thanked the community for their patience. Sony Provides Free Gift For PSN Outage The statement provided by the official Ask PlayStation X (Twitter) account, also mentions that all PlayStation Plus members will automatically receive an additional five days of service.  The PSN originally went down around 6:00 PM ET on Friday, February 7th. This outage impacted users across the world, which took away the ability to sign in, play online, or even access the PlayStation Store. There hasn’t been an outage this long for PSN since April 2011.  This outage will go down as the second-longest in PlayStation Network history.  Sony did not go too much in depth as to how this all happened but it’s safe to say there was no hacking involved this time around.   

Hasbro and Legendary Entertainment announced a Magic: The Gathering Cinematic Universe

Video Game Adaptations have been the trend this decade with the Super Mario Bros Movie and Sonic leading the way. What we haven’t seen too much yet are films and television shows based on Tabletop Games. Hasbro and Legendary Entertainment have announced they are working on a Magic: The Gathering cinematic universe.  Hasbro and Legendary will create “a live-action feature film and television universe” based on the fantasy series, with an inaugural feature film first on deck. “We pride ourselves on being thoughtful caretakers of singular, beloved IP, and no property better fits that description than ‘Magic The Gathering,’” said Mary Parent, Legendary’s head of worldwide production. “Alongside the fantastic Hasbro team, we look forward to creating a multimedia universe that thrills longstanding fans and creates a broad wave of new ones.” Currently, Hasbro is working with Sony TriStar Pictures and Sony Pictures Television adaptations of the board game “Clue”, and a film based on Monopoly. A Magic: The Gathering animated series is already in development at Netflix.  Could a Magic: The Gathering cinematic universe be successful? We will have to wait and see.  Source: Variety

The ESA announces its E3 replacement, iicon taking place in April 2026

The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) has announced its new Interactive Innovative Conference, called iicon. The former owners of the now-dead E3 Conference announced the first-of-its-kind event designed to connect visionaries, thought leaders, and innovators from across industries to “harness the power of interactive entertainment”. iicon is set to take place from April 27-30, 2026 in Las Vegas at the Fontainebleau Resort. Those who attend will get exclusive access to visionary keynotes, engaging discussions and workshops, and elite networking opportunities with executives.  “For decades, video games have been at the forefront of technological and cultural innovation,” said Stanley Pierre-Louis, president and CEO, ESA. “With iicon, we are creating a space for visionaries across industries to come together, connect and reimagine what’s possible through interactive entertainment.” iicon is set to include leaders from Disney, Amazon Games, Electronic Arts, Epic Games, Microsoft, Nintendo of America, Sony Interactive Entertainment, Square Enix, Take-Two Interactive, Ubisoft, and Warner Bros. Games.  It looks like iicon will be what E3 was like where it’ll be an invite-only event for media members and others within the video game industry. It will be far from a fan-focused event. What’s interesting is the timing of it where it’ll be in April instead of June. It remains to be seen if this will be an event where major announcements happen like E3 once did.
