sea of stars throes of watchmaker

Developer and publisher Sabotage Studio announced the release date for Sea of Stars’ free Throes of Watchmaker DLC, which brings a new quest that reunites protagonists Zale and Valere for an exciting new challenge. The free Sea of Stars DLC will release on May 20, 2025, for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. The post-game bonus adventure DLC features a self-contained progression loop that introduces new classes, skills, and combos for players to master. In this adventure, Zale trades his signature sword to become a skillful juggler, while Valere sets aside her trusty staff to dazzle as an acrobat. Throughout the Throes of the Watchmaker, they are joined by a new playable party member, the Artificer—a mechanized sharpshooter who wields lasers. Throes of the Watchmaker features new areas, puzzles, and enemies throughout a compelling storyline unique from Sea of Stars’ core adventure. The cinematic budget matches that of the main game, enabling Sabotage to effectively realize key narrative moments and present an engaging new storyline featuring eight hours of additional content. Here is the list of the Key Features in the Sea of Stars free DLC: Over 8 hours of completely new Areas, Music, Dungeons, Mini-Games, Enemies, Bosses, and Puzzles. Journey into a magical miniature clockwork world where a plethora of oddities and wonders await. The world of Horloge is filled with unique environments, NPCs, enemies and dungeons. And of course, Sabotage’s composer Eric W. Brown returns alongside guest composer Yasunori Mitsuda to bring a completely fresh set of tracks! New Playable Classes for Valere and Zale. The world of Horloge plays by different rules, and for their magic to manifest, the Solstice Warriors will need to adapt. Zale will tap into his agility to become a Juggler, while Valere will harness her balance to dazzle as an Acrobat. Playing to the circus-themed curse, they will unlock a completely new set of attacks, damage types, skills and combos. New Playable Character: Arty.  Artificer joins the party! The friendly engineer robot will finally unlock the laser-shooting capabilities of his construct, and join Valere and Zale in the fight to save Horloge. Local Co-Op With Up To 3 Players. The couch co-op mode is also available for Throes of the Watchmaker. It allows up to three players to engage in traversal and combat with a “Co-Op timed hits” mechanic! Disclaimer: this mode is also available for Sea of Stars’ complete main adventure. In our review for Sea of Stars, we scored it a 9 out of 10, considering it one of the best indie releases of 2023.

Borderlands 4’s new release date has nothing to do with any other games says Randy Pitchford

Yesterday, on April 29, Gearbox Software announced that Borderlands 4 will now be releasing on September 12, 2025, which is 11 days ahead of its original planned date on September 23. Right away the speculation began online that this may have to do something with a potential GTA 6 launch or interfering with Marathon. Gearbox boss, Randy Pitchford, shared on X (Twitter) hours later, saying that Borderlands 4’s early release is due to the result of confidence in the game and development trajectory backed by bug find/fix rates and actual tasks. “Our decision is literally 0% about any other product’s actual or theoretical launch date”. Today, there will be a Borderlands 4 State of Play held on PlayStation’s YouTube and Twitch channels at 5 PM ET / 2 PM PT. The digital presentation will be around 20 minutes long, with a deep dive into the gameplay and showcasing some of its new characters and other features. Borderlands 4 will be releasing on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC this September. In other news related to 2K Games, Mafia: The Old Country is going to have a panel at PAX East next week on May 8th. The release date was leaked by mistake from an early blog post by Hangar 13. It’s expected to release on August 8, 2025.

Housemarque Releases PlayStation 5 Pro Update For Returnal To Celebrate 4th Anniversary

Returnal remains one of PlayStation 5’s most engaging releases this generation. Our review at Rectify Gaming touted “This intense, pulse pounding action experience on top of all of the other things I have mentioned all add up to making Returnal my favorite Playstation 5 game so far, and one of my favorite action games of the last few years.” And the game received attention in the years following. Additionally, the game was also one of the pioneering releases from PlayStation onto Steam. In 2-23, Returnal arrived to PC which also welcomed the Ascension DLC that features co-op play. For the game’s 3rd anniversary in 2024, Housemarque partnered with Dark Horse Comics to release an animated comic further exploring the universe – ‘Fallen Asteria’. This week, Housemarque returns with more for Returnal. For those that have committed to acquiring a PlayStation 5 Pro, there is good news. In that, the developer has revealed it launched a new PlayStation 5 Pro update for Returnal which enables both improved performance alongside a bevy of visual upgrades too. “Returnal PS5 Pro Enhanced Patch is Out Now! Featuring up to 2.5X the pixels on PS5 Pro for a higher resolution experience of Returnal,” Housemarque wrote in the X post on the new update. As recognized for its raw power, the PlayStation 5 Pro is able to lock the refresh output for supported titles whilst also multiplying the visual rendering as well. Moving ahead, Housemarque announced its next IP, Soros. As per a recent interview with  Helsingin Sanomat, the game studio revealed that the title is the most ambitious for Housemarque. It goes on to express the previous PlayStation acquisition is the only reason it can pursue a project to such scale. You can read the full report by heading here. NetEase Games and Bad Guitar Studios have officially released 5v5 rule-changing hero shooter, FragPunk, on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. The game was released on PC last month already, but the console launch was slightly delayed until April 29. The launch of FragPunk on consoles coincides with the release of a new update – Chapter 2 of the game’s first season: Wild Dawn, which brings a brand-new Lancer Dex, a new Team Deathmatch map and over 70 new Shard Cards. Here is an overview of the new Lancer: Dex via Bad Guitar Studios: Dex can deploy a Beacon at a chosen location, and transform himself into a clone. If the Clone is killed, Dex will return to the Beacon’s position, restoring his health before transforming. He can also use Mimic Traps to ambush his enemies, and activate Shield Scales to protect himself. While the clone baits you in, Dex controls everything from the shadows. By the time you notice—it’s already too late. On top of the release of FragPunk on Xbox Series X|S, NetEase revealed an official FragPunk x Xbox Co-branded controller. It features FragPunk’s signature bright colors as well as its iconic character, the IMP, which will glow at night, adding an extra layer of flair.  The controller is very limited and is only available through special promotional events, the publisher said.
