In concern to the current state of the Halo franchise, many are left to wait for more content to arrive as we enter 2021. While 2020 did welcome the bevy of installments that already released to Halo: The Master Chief Collection on PC, the anthology does not fully answer to the necessity of a new mainline entry. Howbeit, the highly-anticipated Halo Infinite is still underway with a freshly revealed launch window aimed for fall 2021.

But, it should not be forgotten that the upcoming Halo Showtime television series is also scheduled to arrive sometime next year. While there is lesser known of the show’s arrival, next year is the best hope for the near decade-long wait. In November, it was reported that production finally resumed for the coming show.

And now, a new fleet of images from the set is now coming out from 343 Industries in its recent Halo Waypoint blog post. While much is not revealed on the context of the show, fans do get a glimpse of the props and even view Jen Taylor reprising her role as Cortana for the coming production.

“As you may have seen on IG last month, after a herculean effort on Showtime’s part, we were able to go back to Budapest a few months ago and resume production on the Halo television series,” Kiki Wolfkill, Halo Transmedia & Entertainment head writes. “While we were able to cover a lot of ground during the pandemic ‘hiatus’, the thing we couldn’t do while working from home was to actually shoot.

“So with a rigorous covid protocol in place and our fingers crossed, we picked up where we left off in March and were able to get some amazing footage in the can. Oh, and this time I got to pack Jen Taylor in my luggage to bring her Cortana magic to the show! What a gift to have her on our set and in Budapest with me. So much to share in 2021 but in the meantime, stay safe, Spartans and enjoy this tiny sneak peek!”

For those that might have missed previously, Jen Taylor got casted for Cortana after actress Natascha McElhone could not fulfill the role. While McElhone will still be casted for Dr. Catherine Halsey, Taylor will voice Master Chief’s A.I. companion in the show. You can read the full report by heading here.
