343 Industries won't be showing Halo 6 at Gamescom or PAX 2017

Microsoft usually shows a CG teaser for the next mainline Halo game but this year they decided to skip everything Halo 6 and focus on its newest recent Halo entry – Halo Wars 2.  They announced a digital expansion featuring the Flood as the antagonist – which you can check out more here.

The weekly 343 blog post came out yesterday and with it, Jeff ‘Grimbrother One’ Easterling wrote the studio is not talking about Halo 6 on Gamescom or PAX 2017 – “. Others were hoping for a tease of things farther off to come. While there’s little to nothing that can be said on that front, it’s been made clear that we won’t be talking about Halo’s next major title for quite some time. And no, that doesn’t mean Gamescom. Or PAX. Trust us, when we’re ready to begin pulling back that proverbial curtain, you’ll know. It won’t be soon.”
He further emphasized E3 “was a pretty awesome celebration of the next chapter in the Halo Wars 2 experience – a brand new expansion succinctly titled Halo Wars 2: Awakening the Nightmare.”
