  1. Merging of handheld and console division

One of Nintendo’s specialty’s without a doubt is handheld, if it weren’t for the success of the DS who knows if Nintendo would be in discussion right now. The Nintendo Switch is going to bring in new fans and one of the reasons for that is 3rd party titles, but the other reason is that it is a handheld and a stay at home console. You could preferably just have it to your TV all you like and if you are someone who travels for work or even goes to conventions this is a treat.

2.The new Jay-Con Controllers
The Jay-Con controllers is a very creative design by Nintendo, it allows you to play two player games with one Switch. You could also say it resembles the mini NES controllers.

3. Cartridges
Now you maybe questioning why the heck are we talking about Cartridges for a modern console in 2016. The major reason for that is that more storage is available on cartridges over Blu Ray discs. This will for sure bring back some classic memories.

4. Nintendo possibly getting serious with eSports.
In the latest trailer towards the end you saw a good portion of eSports and not once was Super Smash Bros. shown. Splatoon was instead and this could mean Nintendo wants to get more in the eSports scene with future 1st party games. Let’s not forget the new Nintendo Switch Pro Controller that looks sweet.

5. 3rd Party Support
This last reason is big for Nintendo, if you haven’t noticed the Wii U didn’t do too well when it came to 3rd party support. It looks like a lot of companies have bought into the Nintendo Switch including Take-Two, Square Enix, Bethesda, EA, Activision, Ubisoft, and even more. The Switch will have a lot more variety when it comes to games to choose from and who knows maybe more indies come along.
