A Second Tide For The Gears Of War: Reloaded Beta Goes Live Today

For what felt like years upon years was the wait for a new Gears of War title. And, that is still left unsure when exactly that will be coming. In 2024, Xbox Game Studios & The Coalition revealed Gears of War: E-Day – a prequel to the defining franchise. However, collected from the wording of Xbox boss Phil Spencer, 2026 is likely when fans can expect to hear on the arrival of the anticipated release.

In the meantime, The Coalition is ramping up the release of the first Gears of War. But rather than a port, the game is being reworked as a new entity – Gears of War: Reloaded. Crafted with Unreal Engine 5 in mind, it will be the first PlayStation release for the series as well. Recently, the game held its beta for the game so players can taste how the game will be in its full form later this August.

Now this week, The Coalition is opening the floodgates to a second beta for Gears of War: Reloaded. From June 20th to June 22nd, players will be able to jump in to continue their experience or jump in for the first time. Even more is that Execution as well as King of the Hill will be the featured game modes for this round of playtesting.

“We heard you,” the developer writes in the X post. “More maps. More modes. More time. This weekend’s Multiplayer Beta has been extended and Execution will now be playable along with KOTH.” Social TDM consists of maps Gridlock, Gold Rush, Raven Down, Courtyard, and War Machine whilst the featured game types compile Gridlock, Raven Down, Courtyard, War Machine, and Canals.

Gears of War is not the only headlining game for release on PlayStation this summer. Recently, Xbox Game Studios & Ninja Theory announced that Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II will be available on PlayStation 5 as well. You can read the full report by heading here.
