
Hazelight Studios’ latest release, Split Fiction has been a huge success reaching over 2 million sales within its first week. According to Variety, a movie adaptation of the game is reportedly in development.
The outlet reports that sources at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) have confirmed that the media company Story Kitchen is assembling the cast, writers, and director for the film while receiving offers from various Hollywood studios.
Hazelight Studios or Electronic Arts have not commented regarding the reports of a potential Split Fiction movie. So far the game is a fan favorite and could make a run to win Game of The Year. This wouldn’t be the first successful title Josef Fares led as It Takes Two won the best game of 2021.
Split Fiction blends fantasy and science fiction, following a pair of authors trapped in the world they wrote. It features split-screen combat with platforming challenges with each character having their own abilities. It’s a game that will bring you and a friend together.
