Last year, Activision Blizzard revealed the newly revamped franchise of competitive Call of Duty with the Call of Duty League. Announcing a $6 million prize pool for the duration of 2020, fans were eager to see teams from across the United States to compete for the top place. And with the season just kicking off with a few events earlier this year, the season was postponed as issues swelled from the COVID-19 outbreak growing.

Now this week, Activision Blizzard has returned to reveal that the Call of Duty League will be returning next week on April 10. Although there will not be attending events for fans to participate in tangibly, spectators can view through livestream as all events until further notice will be hosted online.

In one week from today, the Dallas Empire Home Series will commence as they go against Los Angeles Guerillas. You can view the new schedule in the image below:

It was revealed later in the blog post that teams participating despite competing strictly online will be playing from their location of choice together. So while all matches will be hosted via the internet, teams will be working alongside one another alike a real event, essentially.

The Call of Duty League also discloses that the organization will be hosting five separate Call of Duty Challengers events. Divided between two-days per show, players will compete for a $50,000 prize divided between North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific regions. The first Dallas Empire Challengers event has be told to begin on April 11 the day following the initiation of the Call of Duty League’s return.

Excitingly, the Call of Duty 2v2 Circuit is also told to still be on the table as each franchise of the league will nominate two players to team up in a series of Modern Warfare Gunfight matches. Prizing for the series alongside further details on the Call of Duty League has been shared to reveal more in the coming weeks.

In other related news with Activision Blizzard esports, it was disclosed last month that all scheduled Overwatch League Homestead matches will be cancelled for both March as well as April. You can read the full report by heading here.
