What seemed to be an eternity away with the highly-anticipated Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2 arriving to current hardware at the beginning of September, it surely was a trip leading up to the title’s arrival from its May announcement. Given the short notice for the title being announced to its release, that did not matter much to fans as beloved players can relive their childhoods with a revamped version of the first two games that define the series.
Given that many – either it being Xbox, PlayStation or PC – were definitely excited for the return of Birdman’s definitive game series, it was suspected that the new game would sell well with word of mouth and nostalgia fueling the franchise’s comeback. Howbeit, the results for the title’s performance ended being more than even publisher Activision could have predicted.
In that, the firm on Twitter announced that Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2 has broken a record stretching across the entirety of the brand – disclosing that it has sold one million units in the shortest amount of time recorded.
And hardly trading beyond the two week mark for Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2, it is expected that the number could continue to swell leading to the holiday season later this year. Even more, that number could face greater proportions if recent findings happen to be true about an upcoming port for the recently released title.
According to a finding on Twitter this past August, it was uncovered that control prompts for Nintendo Switch peripherals were discovered in the game’s pre-release Warehouse demo. You can read the full report by heading here.
