Activision Swiftly Removes Controller Support For Call Of Duty Mobile

Activision back in September suddenly announced that the previous Call of Duty Online which was only being tested in Asia will be receiving a port to smart phones for a global release on the App Store and Google Play, rebranded as Call of Duty Mobile. Scheduled to hit in just two weeks, the game would have a good amount of active players leading up to the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare at the end of October.

This Tuesday the game finally dropped and Activision has already made some drastic changes to the game: that being the removal of support for Xbox One and PlayStation Dualshock 4 controllers.

Following the unsteady release of the game yesterday, one player tells the Activision Support account on Twitter about there no longer being support for controllers on the game, and a representative responds that the feature was removed following the “most recent update.” The reasoning for why the swift decision to pull the plug on gamepad support has not been released by Activision as of yet.

One day after the game released and no further explanation has been given. Players who initially used the feature prior to the update when checking the menu option has discovered that the controller tab has been changed to “other” as a replacement header.
