In the age of DC Comics, things appears to be very fruitful in terms of upcoming projects; especially in the realm of video games. This year, two properties are set to release this year with and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and Gotham Knights. The first from Rocksteady Studios just received an update this past December revealing a 2022 release window in a gameplay trailer at The Game Awards.

Additionally, the second project from Warner Bros. Montreal just recently received a new update. The game is scheduled to arrive this October just ahead of Halloween in the fall. But, the long-awaited release from the Batman Arkham team could face a longer wait. Last month Bloomberg Tech’s Jason Schreier reported a new “silent” delay for the game leads a new launch window into 2023.

But this week Rocksteady Studios game director Sefton Hill officially took the lid off of the claim announcing that 2023 is now the projected release time for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

Most notably is the amount of time that Rocksteady Studios put into this game since its last major entry. 2015 was when the developer welcomed Batman Arkham Knight to the world. But, it will be eight years later that is when the connected Suicide Squad game is slated to release. Of course, there is still uncertainty for when the game arrives with no specific time frame provided – suggesting we could see a later launch next year possibly.

In the meantime, there is a separate Warner Bros. title slated for this year. In holiday 2022 is when Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment & Warner Bros. Avalanche is set to release Hogwarts Legacy. This past week the team showcased a 15-minute presentation of the game featuring the gameplay and mechanics alongside a Nintendo Switch port in the works.
