The annual livestreamed event where speedrunners from all around come together to both beat records and also gain donations for a better cause occurred this past week. I mean Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ): this year the online hosted event has raised over $2.3 million dollars for the Prevent Cancer Foundation.

The week-long event went on from January 6th last week until this past Sunday on January 13th, where AGDQ has surpassed last year’s goal with a whopping $2,394,668. Back in 2018, the event reached a new goal of $2.2 Million and has now been beaten with an additional $100K.

Speedrunners raced through popular titles like Cuphead, Bloodborne, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and Halo: Reach. Some highlighted runs from the passed event recognizes players like: alex_sr with his Portal speedrun, Dr.Fatboy running through Sonic the Hedgehog in 20 minutes, and Vysuals flying through Team Cherry’s Hollow Knight in less than an hour and half.

The next event planned for later this year, Summer Games Done Quick, has already been announced with set dates for June 23rd to June 30th.

What were some of your favorite moments from this year’s Awesome Games Done Quick?
