Alan Wake 2 Add-On ‘Lake House’ Officially Arrives Next Week

This month marks an official year since the launch of Alan Wake II. Despite the time difference, our feelings to the title still stands. “The four long years of development have paid off, and the passion and love from the studio truly speaks for itself. From the incredible worldbuilding and interconnected narratives to the elevated survival horror and detective case solving, Alan Wake 2 is a unique experience that you don’t want to miss,” our review for the game shares.

Since then, more has come to the title. In June, its first major DLC ‘Night Springs’ arrived delivering an anthology of stories structured off of the in-game television show. Additionally, Alan Wake II is officially coming to store shelves – literally. Around the same time, Remedy Entertainment confirmed that Alan Wake II will be welcoming a physical release scheduled to launch this month.

Now, Remedy Entertainment steps back into the light to share Alan Wake II add-on Lake House is set to launch next week. You can watch the new trailer in the video below:

“For The Lake House we wanted to introduce a new, different kind of enemy from those found in the main game. It’s important to us that our enemies follow on from themes found in and around the part of the game that they are revealed – whether that be the water-themed enemy, the ‘Diver’ located at the Valhalla Nursing Home, or the Taken Wolves that are found in and around the Cauldron Lake Forest,” game director Kyle Rowley shares.

“The Lake House tells the story of Agent Estevez’s visit to the Lake House facility, which takes place in parallel with the early part of [Alan Wake 2 co-protagonist] Saga’s story in Alan Wake 2,” lead writer Clay Murphy revealed. Rowley adds: “Much like Saga, Estevez is a federal agent, so she is quite capable with standard issue firearms. That said, we did add a new FBC-specific weapon to this expansion which can be used to deal with slightly more… paranatural entities. Estevez’s base weapons also deal a bit more damage than Saga’s, so Taken enemies go down a little faster.”
