Amazon’s Tomb Raider TV Series Officially Greenlit

Already at Amazon, the firm has established a firm standing when it comes to video game adaptations. The recently aired Fallout TV series debuted roughly a month ago and has swelled in popularity thanks to its execution. Upon its debut, the show shot up to #1 worldwide for Prime Video. Even more, it was just over a week later that season 2 got the thumbs up as well.

Looking beyond that, details on Amazon’s other efforts attached to popular video game IPs is still developing. Previously, it was reported that the firm established a new deal with Embracer Group. The deal included Amazon reported to publish the next major release for the series. What’s more, a connected, live-action series is in discussion at Amazon as well.

In total, it was reported that a $600 million agreement was solidified between both firms. Now in a new press release, the Tomb Raider TV show was officially greenlit at Amazon. Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag) was enlisted to pen the script alongside dj2 entertainment to produce the series. The show stands alongside a separate Netflix animated series underway.
