It appears that developer Gearbox Software alongside its current big release Borderlands 3 cannot stay out of the spotlight this week. It was already shared that the title will be hitting next-generation consoles at launch for the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. Although previously announced earlier this year, the studio reiterates that better performance and higher resolution will bring a more definitive experience to the 2019-released title.
Alongside users finding a free upgrade based on their console family of choice on day one, they can also expect cross-platform play to be implemented later on for all supported systems running Borderlands 3. But that is not all according to a new blog post from Gearbox Software. In that, another set of expansions are set to arrive in the coming months.
The firm announcing Season Pass 2 for Borderlands 3 offers two new add-ons that will be included in this new bundle of content.
Season Pass 2 will include two all-new downloadable content add-ons – Designer’s Cut and Director’s Cut – plus brand new looks for all four Vault Hunters, to be revealed later this month. First up is Designer’s Cut, which creates totally new ways to play Borderlands3by introducing an additional Skill Tree for each Vault Hunter, a new standalone mode called Arms Race, and more.
For the introductory Designer’s Cut DLC for Borderlands 3, Gearbox Software shares the add-on will be available for purchase on day one of the next-generation versions – November 10. However, the latter added Director’s Cut expansion with how little details that have been spared is told to arrive sometime in spring 2021 next year.
Even more, fans anticipating to learn more on the contents of the coming Designer’s Cut can do so by following the string of livestreams hosted by the development team starting on October 20 next week. Additionally, it is suggested pricing for the DLCs alongside Season Pass 2 will be unveiled sometime then.
