In the world of collaborations for platform holders, the range companies go to grasp a broader audience or hone in its current user base is always exciting to see. From the likes of Microsoft’s Xbox, the firm has previously collaborated with IHOP in specialized dishes to billboard its platform and the ever popular Xbox Game Pass. But, that is not the only major arrangement it had in recent times.
Previously, the firm also teamed up with Adidas in replicating its console lifespan for its 20th anniversary celebration. In that, the two announced the Original Xbox ‘Adidas Forum Tech’, Xbox 360 ‘The Xbox 360 Forum Mid’, and Xbox Series X ‘Forum Tech Boost’. And whilst the three pairs already came and went, the partnership between both companies has yet to dwindle.
From a new announcement on Wednesday, Adidas & Xbox have collaborated once more with another inspired pair. With Cleveland Cavaliers’ shooting guard Donovan Mitchell, this new team-up introduces the ‘D.O.N. Issue #4 Basketball Shoes’. On the official website, the shoes are priced at $120 with no official release date yet.
“Donovan Mitchell attacks the rim with reckless abandon, no matter who’s defending it. These adidas basketball shoes embody his fearless attitude on the hardwood and his willingness to put his body on the line. The Lightstrike midsole cushions your step without weighing you down, and the data-generated traction pattern lets you push the pace without losing grip,” the description for the Xbox shoes reads.
“FUTURE OF FAST:New adidas Lightstrike Strobel midsole for super-light cushioning, while encased in a next-gen propulsion frame enabling explosive speed for full-court domination. FASTENED FIT: New LIGHTLOCK upper creates an engineered lightweight membrane to provide ultimate lockdown for a fastened, snug fit.
