As of late, Apex Legends has faced a small resurgence in its live-service approach. Starting off 2024, the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Collection Event introduced the first licensed crossover to the battle royale featuring unique in-game items alongside the iconic Buster Sword as well. Additionally, Electronic Arts is looking to better the game moving forward.
In one report, with more than 73 percent of its total earnings from live-service, Apex Legends is a major focus for improvements. And with the light incline from the aforementioned event, the publisher is looking to go full-scale on this support further ahead. According to lead writer Ashley Reed, she discloses that story lore will have a greater foundation in the gameplay offering a better draw to players invested in the universe.
On Thursday, Respawn Entertainment released the new gameplay trailer for Season 20 – Breakout showcasing its new overhaul to the core game and acknowledging five years since the launch of Apex Legends. You can watch the trailer in the video below:
