Despite the lacking number of Silent Hill or Metal Gear titles from Konami, the publisher remains active with its Castlevania IP at least. So far, we witnessed four success full season of the titular anime series on Netflix alongside a new spin-off that is officially on the way. However, the same cannot be said for the video game series in terms of new installments.
Instead, fans received legacy collections of the original Castlevania titles with Castlevania Anniversary Collection earlier on in 2019. But, while hopes that current platforms could expect a new installment, Konami went on to deliver yet another bundle of nostalgic titles. With this the publisher released Castlevania Advance Collection just last month.
But in September, Konami did offer a new Castlevania game. Howbeit, it is not on conventional systems. Instead, the new game came in the form of an Apple Arcade exclusive, titled ‘Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls’. You can watch the game’s launch trailer in the video below:
“’Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls’ is a full-fledged side-scrolling action game. Experience a game with epic amounts of content including 60 levels, a wide variety of equipment, daily and weekly missions, and more! Set in a world after Dracula has been sealed away, the pages of a new story bringing together heroes of the past have begun to turn…” the Apple Arcade page description for the game reads
Oddly enough, Apple continues to establish exclusive ties with prominent Japanese developers in recent months. Just previously, a new game from PlatinumGames, World of Demons, shipped as a unique release for Apple Arcade. You can read the full report by heading here.
