For the sake of the current status of Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XIV, the game is thriving greatly in anticipation for the upcoming Endwalker expansion now paved to release for this coming November. Additionally, the game is also facing a great surge in the number of players thanks to the recent PlayStation 5 version that greeted users on the new console back in May as well.

Noted, however, many players from outside the series in recent weeks are continuing to fill server caps in-game as new records are being broken. Discovered over on MMO Population, it is revealed that Final Fantasy XIV overtakes the #1 spot for most played game compared to Blizzard Entertainment’s World of Warcraft. While active users remain in favor for World of Warcraft, more interactivity is tracked for Final Fantasy XIV’s placement.

Now according to a new discovery, the continued influx of players hopping onto Final Fantasy XIV is being limited severely. In that, Reddit user u/Polydopamine shared an image of the server congestion that the new growing population has inflicted on Final Fantasy XIV. You can view the image below:

For some clarification, the outcome currently for Final Fantasy XIV is not permanent. Simply, the recent wave of new players happens to be a large hurdle for Square Enix’ servers in which the publisher did not anticipate on its end. In time, which should not be very long at all, players hoping to create an account can do so and start playing in no time.

Elsewhere previously, Square Enix pressed on the long-requested Xbox version for Final Fantasy XIV. In that, director Naoki Yoshida told that expansions for the game overshadowed ambitions to create an Xbox version. You can read the full report by heading here.
