Aspyr’s Star Wars Knights Of The Old Republic Welcomes Saber Interactive To Work On The Game, Confirms To Be PlayStation 5 Timed Exclusive

While many Star Wars projects have not lead to exciting releases, things appear to be changing for the better as of recently. 2019 went on to introduce Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order from Respawn Entertainment alongside the firm confirmed to be working on its sequel and two other related titles as well tied to the license. But, that is not all underway.

Additionally, Detroit Become Human/Heavy Rain developer Quantic Dream is also working on a new story driven title. Star Wars Eclipse was revealed last December, but, a release date has yet to be unveiled. Elsewhere prior, Aspyr unveiled its now involved with another Star Wars game. But unlike previous remasters, this time it is working on a complete remake for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

In the latest Embracer Group financial report conference call, the parent company reveals that developer Saber Interactive is now part of the production for coming game Video Game Chronicles transcribed. But although it was presumed the game was to be a PlayStation exclusive, it is now learned to only coming to PlayStation 5 for a limited time.

Aspyr has gone full in to make this the best game that they can make. When we acquired Aspyr, we knew from the start that they would require our assistance. Saber has tremendous expertise in creating these types of products. We’ve done it on Halo – on multiple Halo products – so we’ve been spending a lot of time working with them to bring this title over.

He continues, “We’re fully confident that the game is going to be fantastic, but it’s a massive product and massive products require a lot of effort and a lot of time to make good, and especially when you’re talking about game that’s very old, we’ve basically had to remake that game from scratch.” 

As for other fragments of news regarding Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, it was previously reported that the game series is being adapted into a full-length film. According to Buzzfeed in 2019, Laeta Kalogridis (Avatar, Altered Carbon) is told to be the one penning the script for the film. You can read the full report by heading here.
