While the current gravitational pull regarding the Assassin’s Creed franchise is pointed towards Assassin’s Creed Valhalla with the ‘Siege of Paris’ arriving this month, Ubisoft is not done with the series just yet as you might expect. In fact, the publisher is currently developing a new experience that transitions the game into a live service with endless amount of content it announced previously.
In that, Ubisoft revealed Assassin’s Creed Infinity: a new project that takes what we know about the series and merges it with multiple releases and eras. Presuming to incorporate the prior games with new fundamentals for the series, players can discover that multiple timelines and characters can be playable in Assassin’s Creed Infinity when Ubisoft prepares to share more on the new initiative.
But, Ubisoft in an announcement on Monday reveals that it is returning to Assassin’s Creed Odyssey with new patchwork to release. That being that players can find the 2018 now running at 60 frames per second on the newest Xbox & PlayStation machines. “This update adds 60 FPS support when running the game on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 through backwards compatibility,” Ubisoft clarifies in the Ubisoft Forum post.
This will mark the sixth Assassin’s Creed title to receive 60 frames per second support – that is on Xbox Series X. At launch in November did Assassin’s Creed Valhalla ship with the ability to run at a higher refresh rate on the console. Following in a later FPS Boost update did Assassin’s Creed III Remastered, Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered, Assassin’s Creed The Ezio Collection, and Assassin’s Creed Unity release the same support on Xbox.
Addition plans regarding the future for the series is left unknown. But Assassin’s Creed Valhalla senior writer Alain Mercieca specifies his interest to see an entry make its debut in Brazil. “On a grander scale I do feel there is a rich tapestry of culture in South America that the brand has yet to explore fully. From the Incas to the Spanish Conquistadors, it is a very fascinating time. Though Black Flag did touch on some of it, I’m feeling more the Brazil region,” he tells The Gamer.
