Since available to the public, Astro Bot has been a refreshing release that many were excited to see come to PlayStation. “Team ASOBI did an outstanding job with Astro Bot, a delightful yet playful platformer that is sure to capture the hearts of many gamers, and one that I found difficult to put down once I started playing,” our review for the game reads; scored 9.5/10.
Since then, Team Asobi as continued to pump in free content for players to find more ways to return to Astro Bot. In October, the ‘Building Speed’ add-on featured new speedrun levels and fresh cameo bots. Similarly, there was also the addition of the ‘Winter Wonder’ update that featured more levels. And, it was revealed during the PlayStation Tournaments XP, a new speedrun level is on the way.
Well, that level has since then been revealed to be part of a new tangent of levels coming in the newest ‘Vicious Void Galaxy’ update. You can watch the trailer for Tick-Tock Shock in the video below:
“To start the year on a good note, we are delighted to announce new Astro Bot content is coming starting today. You might have noticed that a, yet unreleased, level of Astro Bot was featured at the PlayStation XP Tournament Final in London, England on January 18. That very level, along with 4 additional ones will be coming your way inside the brand-new Vicious Void Galaxy, starting today.
“These five levels will appear on a weekly basis as follows: Feb 13 – Tick-Tock Shock, Feb 20 – Thrust or Bust, Feb 87 – Cock-A-Doodle-Doom, Mar 6 – Hard to Bear, and Mar 13 – Armored Hardcore.” Unlike our last update Winter Wonder, which was a walk through the Xmas park, this new update features harder levels to test your jumping skills.
“Each level comes with a brand-new Special Bot to rescue and, once that’s done, can be replayed in Time Attack mode with online rankings. To access these, you will need to have completed the main game. So sharpen those skills again and let’s get rescuing. […] But hold on, we still have more news. Alongside these five new levels, we are pleased to say that owners of the PS5 Pro will be able to enjoy an improved version of Astro Bot featuring a constant best resolution while still running at 60 frames per second.“
