Baldur’s Gate 3 has strong debut on Steam with 472K players online in its first 24 hours

Baldur’s Gate 3 from Larian Studios finally had its official release on PC since its been in early access for years. In its first 24 hours on Steam the game had one of the largest peaks of the year for a new game with 472,136 users playing on August 3rd. Thank to EuroGamer for pointing it out that it only trails Hogwarts Legacy as largest 2023 Steam launch when it comes to player count.

For now, Baldur’s Gate 3 is only available on PC via Steam, but on September 6, 2023 it will be releasing for PlayStation 5 making its debut on console. The Xbox port of this game has been delayed due to the fact the developers are having difficulties implementing split-screen for Xbox Series S.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is a story-rich, party-based RPG set in the universe of Dungeons & Dragons, where your choices shape a tale of fellowship and betrayal, survival and sacrifice, and the lure of absolute power.
