The Until Dawn Remake is set to release on October 4, 2024, and developer Ballistic Moon has laid off some of its employees. This comes a month before their latest project will release and the number of employees impacted remains to be seen.
The developer has not put out an official statement regarding the layoffs however, Stuart Campbell, a Game Programmer at Ballistic Moon left a statement online saying “Hi everyone, Unfortunately, my current role at Ballistic Moon is being made redundant, so I’m looking for new opportunities. If you have any roles you think I might be suited for, please get in touch.”
Technical Designer, Harry Williams said “After two exciting years working on the wonderful Until Dawn 2024 at Ballistic Moon, I am unfortunately being made redundant as a Technical Designer. I’ve loved working with everyone at BM and hope I cross paths with members of that family in future projects!”
The games industry has been hit with a lot of layoffs this year and the hits seem to be coming. It doesn’t seem to matter how well a game will or might perform. We’ve seen large corporations like Microsoft and Epic Games make substantial layoffs earlier in the year.
Until Dawn Remake will release for PlayStation 5 and PC.
