While majority of the already showcased projects shared during today’s Inside Xbox came from traditional regions like the United States or sectors in the European Union, the next announcement comes from Bandai Namco in Japan with Scarlet Nexus. This new property follows the story of Yuito who pursues to become an elite psionic after being saved by one as a child.

“In a far distant future, humanity’s last hope falls into the hands of an elite group of psionic soldiers, who battle an invincible threat known as, Others. Unravel the mysteries of a Brain Punk future caught between technology and psychic abilities in, SCARLET NEXUS,” the synapse for the game provided reads.

The setting of New Himuka is shared to be a conglomerate of mediums with inspiration spawned from both anime alongside western science fiction to bring a unique environment to the new title. The plot also follows the flowing mind power that enriched Bandai Namco’s Tales of Vesperia, the publisher reveals.

Alongside the expected base of a hack and slash, players will also have to juggle the new ability of psycho-kinetic force to be on step ahead of your foes. “Using psycho-kinetic abilities, the world around you becomes your greatest weapon. Lift, break and throw pieces of your environment to build your attack combos and lay waste to your enemies.”

While there is no slated release date as of yet for the game, Bandai Namco does share that Scarlet Nexus will be available on both the current and upcoming Xbox iterations. With that, players can expect to play on both with Smart Delivery confirmed for the game so fans will not have to purchase both versions.
