Reversing back to the end of 2018 became quite a unique moment when Capybara Games’ Below officially arrived to both Xbox and PC. The title quickly picked up traction thanks to its unique soundtrack done by Canadian musician Jim Guthrie and the isolated world underneath the game’s surface which you experience.
Transitioning into 2019, word broke out that the game is reported to debut later on for Nintendo’s and Sony’s platform at some point: Director Kris Pitriowski told that the game would not be a console exclusive as ties will eventually be cut from Xbox One and migrate to other systems later on. And now this month looks to be the first sign of the new venture.
According to a new trailer uploaded by the team earlier in February, Below will be “coming soon” to PlayStation 4. You can watch the new trailer in the video underneath:
Parallel with the inauguration of Below to new hardware, Capybara Games also announced a new Explore mode for the game. Essentially a lightened survival mode, players won’t have to manage hunger/thirst, traps will inflicted reduced health whilst instant deaths are removed completely, and checkpoints will be accessible after death to ease exploration for players.
The new mode that will debut for PlayStation will also arrive the same time for Xbox and PC as well. Oddly enough, despite the implications picked up from Pitriowski’s interview last year, there is no sight of a Nintendo Switch version following the announcement as of yet.
Have you played Below or plan on to when it arrives to PlayStation?
Below is currently out now for Xbox One and PC.
