Closing in on nearly two years ago, Bethesda at the 2017 Bethesda Showcase at E3 revealed Tango Gameworks’ The Evil Within 2 which launched later that Fall. And since then, fans have been patiently waiting for more to be announced for the follow-up title with some sort of DLC or story expansion as the previous 2014 title has, but the day has yet to come.

Now as we close in on this year’s Bethesda Showcase which is set to take place this coming Sunday, only a few titles have been announced to make an appearance at the L.A. event. But according to a tweet from the Tango Gameworks’ founder Shinji Mikami, something related to the series is expected to be revealed at the approaching press conference.

Translated from the text through an online translator, reads: “Rehearsal Day, end.” Leaving the implication that Mikami is in Los Angeles in preparation for the event. Though this doesn’t truly confirm that we are getting a new Evil Within title, however, it does leave the opportunity for something related to the series to be revealed to say the least.

Especially as the game has not received a true DLC drop since releasing back in 2017, this could be the window for a new story in the survival horror title.

If you haven’t played The Evil Within 2, you can read up on our review for the title here.

The Bethesda 2019 Showcase will go live tomorrow at 5:30 PM PST / 8:30 EST.

The Evil Within 2 is out now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
