As time draws closer to the reveal of the upcoming Call of Duty title Black Ops 4, Game Informer was able to speak with David Vonderhaar with some questions that have been waiting to be answered.
One question that many have been waiting to be answered was the amount of maps for the game’s multiplayer when the game fully releases. Vonderhaar confirming in his response that there will be a total of eleven maps. This including:
- Arsenal
- Contraband
- Frequency
- Gridlock
- Hacienda
- Payloads
- Seaside
Along with four fan-favorite maps from previous Black Ops titles that will be reimagined for the anticipated game. Which are Firing Range, Slums, Jungle, and Summit. It was also known that the remake for the classic Nuketown map will be coming to the collection of maps as post-launch content.
Which brings concerns to fans about the choice of how many maps will be in the game is interesting, especially as the game doesn’t feature a single player campaign mode. Fans are expecting to see more maps as a result from the decision. Compared to last year’s Call of Duty: WW2 which featured 10 maps along with a story mode, there’s not much extra compensating in exchange for the campaign being absent.
With the game introducing its interpretation of Battle Royale, Blackout to the series, this might be what’s filling the slot for the story’s position for this year’s installment.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on October 12, 2018.
