It was only at the start of December that Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Japan Studio Executive Producer and Silent Hill veteran Keiichiro Toyama announced his departure in favor to form a new game developer, Bokeh Game Studio. At the time of the reporting for the new team founding, the firm did not press on what the first game will be or really elaborate on the pursuit for its inaugural entry.
However, given from the footage of the announcement, it is suggested that whatever it is – it will be in likeness to a horror experience. Already understanding that Toyama and other associates that lead Bokeh Game Studio are well-recognized developers for Silent Hill, many attributes could be utilized towards the new project.
Well, when discussing more about the team’s future, it is disclosed that the new unnamed game will be a horror action-adventure project. Toyama elaborates that while elements of thrilling experiences will be apparent in the new title, there will be lighter overtones for exciting stories to portray in the full scope.
If anything, this will be more of a horror-oriented game. But we will focus on making this a broader entertainment experience, rather than a hardcore horror game.
Additionally, Toyama continues to offer that the main focus for the game will be aimed towards the PC demographic. But, there is also ambitions for consoles to also indulge in the new project as the team tells the game is forecasted for a 2023 release window. “We are developing with PC as the lead platform, but we hope to release the game on as many console platforms as possible,” Toyama adds.
For one thing, it is certain that following the founding of Bokeh Game Studio, it hammered in the last nail in the coffin for any hopes of a new Silent Hill entry anytime soon.
