For Call of Duty fans today, you should already be well aware of the recent bomb drop of an announcement that studio Treyarch made today. In that, the firm shared the first full look at the coming Call of Duty installment, Black Ops Cold War. It is reported that the title will be set directly after the titular 2010 Black Ops entry during the early 1980s and feature familiar faces of the original cast.
Howbeit, the firm did brush upon the more enticing multiplayer segment of this year’s Call of Duty, telling that online matchmaking will be presented on September 9th. Alongside the showcase for the game’s base multiplayer, Treyarch also pens that Zombies will be in the spotlight as well later next month.
But regarding the finer details of the multiplayer, Treyarch when speaking to Charlie Intel disclosed that the next entry for the series will be similar in scope to the currently ongoing Modern Warfare (2019). In that, the game will offer free DLC updates throughout post-launch phase of the game and implement a battle pass system also.
Another noted element that made last year’s installment stood out greatly was the cross-platform play between all supported platforms. The same can also be said for the current lineup of systems as well as integrating the next-generation PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X when Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War arrives this November. Cross-progression too will be another feature present for Treyarch’s title.
As for the pricing of the new game, it is reported that the game will be listed at the expected $59.99. Howbeit, when referencing the Cross-Gen Bundle for Black Ops Cold War, users will find a $69.99 price tag for the pricier tier. The model will include a version for both current & next-gen systems of the respected platform. But when searching for the next-generation versions to pre-order, there are no available listings: which suggests the pricing will ultimately be more than current platform games.
