Call Of Duty Mobile Overtakes Most Number Of Downloads In First Month Topping Mario Kart Tour

October proved to be a successful month for the mobile gaming market as both Nintendo’s Mario Kart Tour and Activision’s Call of Duty: Mobile exceeded projected expectations in the first weeks striking millions of downloaded users. Waiting out to see the monthly recordings for both mobile titles, it was revealed that Call of Duty outlasted Mario Kart as the first-person shooter broke the previous record for the kart racing title.

According to a report from Sensor Tower, the first month for Mario Kart Tour reached an estimated 17 million downloads in October, but Call of Duty: Mobile went above and beyond that metric by nearly 9 times that amount. Sharing that the mobile shooter reached roughly 148 million downloads globally in the first month of release.

Delving deeper into the statistics for Call of Duty: Mobile’s first month, it was shared that the game’s leading region for downloads was based in the United States with 23.6 million, almost a fifth of global users. Followed by India which placed second at 16.2 million downloads in the first month of the game releasing. Notably, the most populated day of downloads was recorded for October 1st, the game’s launch day.

Moving to gross game revenue, Call of Duty: Mobile reached an accumulative $55.9 million in its first month; peaking at $3.1 for a single day on October 5, the launch weekend for the title. Again, the United States is ranked as the most grossed revenue with $22.8 million, alike downloads is a calculated 16 percentile of all global gross monetary revenue. However, Japan ranks as second with $7 million grossed revenue.

In contrast to competing launch month’s for games like PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Fortnite, Call of Duty: Mobile exceeds both recorded numbers as well. Topping PUBG more than double the battle royale’s record first month download of 60.7 million along with the game’s debut month grossed revenue of $3.5. And more than quadrupling Fortnite’s first month of 35 million and first month revenue rounding to $27.1 million.

While collected revenue is divided between both Android as well as iOS, the game showed to be popular sided with Apple’s platform as 60 percent of downloads were through the App Store. That percentage made up of the game’s first accumulated monthly revenue is about $32 million grossed.
