Roughly two weeks ago, a user on Reddit discovered a selection of images which teased towards some sort of new Resident Evil title which they said derived from YouTube thumbnails. Titled “Project Resistance,” the few frames provided looks to be some sort of multiplayer-focused survival title, but with zero context provided could of point fans in the wrong direction.

While we still have little information on the game, Resident Evil publisher Capcom officially teased the game with a cinematic trailer that the original images were taken from. The company does, however, confirm that the game is in fact a “team-based survival horror experience.”

Picking up a few details from the trailer, it does raise the question to how the survival will be directed as it does show an unfaced character orchestrating the entire scenario from a control room. Could players possibly be given the keys to this undead-ridden circus as implied from the trailer? That we are left unsure since the Capcom has left us patiently waiting for the full reveal.

Another eye opener from the teaser showcases the same unknown persona towards the ending of the trailer, and shown in this piece’s header, to be given control of Mr. X from Resident Evil 2. This not only opens to the possibility of players being given direct control of iconic monsters from the series, but also suggests that other games from the franchise might be added to the mix as well.

Capcom ending the video announced that more of Project Resistance will be revealed at this month’s upcoming Tokyo Game Show hosted in Japan in a few short weeks.
