Capcom Schedules Demo For Resident Evil 3 Remake To Arrive This Thursday & Resistance Next Week

We are cutting close to nearly two weeks until the official release for the Resident Evil 3 Remake. And despite the short amount of time left, Capcom decided that it would be best to launch an abrupt demo for the game. Although the fanbase following the series did anticipate a brief playtest for the game, it was questionable when exactly the developer would decide to make it live. As seen with the demo which shipped for Devil May Cry V months in advanced, it was a bit worrying.

Announced this week, Capcom revealed that on March 19th, there will be a demo for the highly-anticipated remake for the franchise’s third entry alongside the standalone multiplayer-only experience, Resident Evil Resistance. Here is a synapse released by the company for the demo:

While there’s a bit more focus on action in Resident Evil 3 compared to last year’s Resident Evil 2, you won’t want to go in guns blazing – it may be a demo, but you’ll need to conserve your ammo and items if you want to stand a chance of surviving.

Later on in the reveal post, Capcom goes on to share that the separate playtest for Resident Evil Resistance will not be unique to certain platforms or players who pre-ordered the game, alike with Resident Evil 3 Remake. This will instead be labeled an open beta which will commence on March 27 next Friday.

It does come as a big surprise seeing that the demo slated for this week is also not exclusive to a certain platform – primarily PlayStation since Sony holds the marketing rights for the title currently. We did witness for Capcom’s last AAA release as the title was instead marketed through Microsoft’s platform and received two separate demos.

What playtest are you most excited to play in the coming days?

Resident Evil 3 Remake & Resident Evil Resistance is set to launch on April 3, 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
