For players that are looking towards the next-generation Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 consoles, it happens that CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 is an instant thought for the new leading hardware later this holiday season. While the November-slated project is scheduled to release with current-generation versions already, the emphasis on newer hardware is what really brings anticipation to the table for the new game.
The Polish developer even goes the lengths to confirm that following its release later into 2021, CD Projekt Red will be sending out a title update specifically suited for the newer systems to “take advantage of next-gen hardware,” the firm announced back in June. Howbeit, Cyberpunk 2077 is not the only highlight for next-generation hardware from the developer after all.
Today, CD Projekt Red announced that its 2015 entry The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be arriving to both Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.
Developed to take advantage of the most powerful gaming hardware, the next-gen edition of the game will feature a range of visual and technical improvements — including ray tracing and faster loading times — across the base game, both expansions, and all extra content.
CD Projekt Red specifies that the Complete Edition of The Witcher 3 will be available on the newer units. So all added content that shipped with the extended version of the 2015 entry will be available on next-generation consoles. The firm in addition to the announcement shared that the game will be a free update for those who already own the game on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.
Elsewhere regarding The Witcher series previously, it was reported that CD Projekt Red has already begun working on the next installment. While it is said to not be a direct fourth entry, it is said to be a project set in the same universe penned by author Andrzej Sapkowski. You can read the full report by heading here.
