As many can gather from the chatter stretching across the internet this week, Cyberpunk 2077 essentially released again with its latest 1.5 update for the game. This includes a plentiful number of fixes alongside incorporating enhancements specifically for the next-generation consoles for the game. But, not everything is perfectly accounted for.
Each platform appears to be hindered to some degree: PC users are finding the update has welcomed a new client prone to crashing. Physical owners of the PlayStation version for Cyberpunk 2077 are unable to play the game. And Xbox Series S owners question only the 30 frames per second cap for its dedicated version.
In a CD Projekt Red forum post, Community Director Marcin Momot speaks on the matters and more issues in the game which is planned to be addressed and resolved in future patchwork. “The crash is most likely caused by audio software conflict. So far we’ve identified this issue with audio drivers such as A-Volute, Nahimic or Sonic Studio. We’re currently investigating.” Adding, “Meanwhile, as a temporary solution, we recommend disabling said drivers before launching the game.”
A solution regarding the disc version for PlayStation owners is not provided in the blog post. Additionally, Momot also presses on the Xbox Series S version and trophy transfer between PlayStation 4 & PlayStation 5 stating,” we are investigating our options but don’t know if this will be possible and, if so, in the case of trophies, if it could happen retroactively.”
Looking ahead, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is projected to receive its next-generation upgrade later this year. From CD Projekt Red itself, the version is projected to arrive sometime in Q222 later on. You can read the full report by heading here.
