To kick things off in the first half of The Game Awards, CD PROJEKT RED brought the first big surprise of the show with The Witcher IV. It was only announced a few weeks ago that Witcher IV has entered full production and today we have received a first look at the title with a cinematic trailer.

The six-minute trailer gives a first look at Ciri as the protagonist she takes on a witch contract in a remote village terrorized for generations by a monster demanding ritual sacrifice.

It was also confirmed that The Witcher IV is being developed using customized Unreal Engine 5 technology; the cinematic trailer is pre-rendered in a customer build of Unreal Engine 5 on an unannounced NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPU.

The Witcher IV is a single-player, open-world RPG from CD PROJEKT RED. At the start of a new saga, players take on the role of Ciri and embark on a journey through a brutal dark fantasy world. Powered by Unreal Engine 5, it aims to be the most immersive and ambitious open-world Witcher game to date.
