Looking back at Nintendo’s E3 2017 Direct, many fans were left eager and hungry for more information about the announcement of Metroid Prime 4. More than a year has past since the game’s global reveal, and there hasn’t been any details released since last June. However, many fans are now speculating that we could expect more news on the highly anticipated title.

Geoff Keighley, creator of The Game Awards, has posted an image of him with Wolfgang Puck and Nintendo America’s CEO Reggie Fils-Aime. Fans on Twitter took this post a sign for the possibility of an update on the game.

Looking closely at Fils-Aime’s t-shirt, fans were instantly able to pick out the Samus logo from the Metroid series, which doesn’t come as a surprise since other publishers have referenced upcoming titles through their choice of attire.

This isn’t unusual to see from Keighley to tease details via Twitter. Going back to E3 2017, the awards show host revealed the price for the then-titled Project Scorpio console.

Whether this is true or just a great coincidence, fans will have to take this with a grain of salt as the annual awards show slowly approaches. The Game Awards will be streamed live on December 6, 2018 at 5:30 PST / 8:30 PM EST.
