It was unveiled just close to two weeks ago that Hello Games’ No Man’s Sky would be making a round to hit Xbox Game Pass for console. While PC players would be left out of the addition, the developer did share that Windows 10 would also be seeing its own respected version the same day that the game hits the Netflix-esque video game service. However, the studio nor Microsoft disclosed the official arrival for either versions at the time.
But in a new blog post from the studio, Hello Games announces that No Man’s Sky will be hitting Xbox Game Pass as well as Windows 10 today, June 11. In conjunction with the slated date for this week, Hello Games also went to disclose that cross-platform play will be shipping with the new additions today too.
We are excited to be able to announce that […] PlayStation 4 players, Xbox One players and PC players will all be able to explore, journey, survive, build, and trade together. Excitingly, No Man’s Sky is joining what is at the moment a fairly small group of games which support cross-platform multiplayer.

Interesting enough, it was not too long ago that Hello Games was touting about its inability to offer the feature for supported platforms. Back in August last year, Hello Games told UploadVR that due to “platform restrictions,” No Man’s Sky likely will not see the light of day for cross-play. The studio was heavily referencing the barrier that Sony at the time had in place which withheld teams from adding the feature.
However, it wasn’t until October later that year that Sony gave the green light for development teams to go ahead and ship cross-play support for their titles. With the feature now virtually open to any title, it is assuring to know that console can be bridged together through online play now.
What system do you plan on utilizing cross-play for in No Man’s Sky?
No Man’s Sky is out now for PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation VR.
