Crysis Remastered Leaked Through Official Website

A few hours after the initial leak of Crysis Remastered emerged online for fans anticipating to learn more from Crytek’s tease last week, the developer officially announced the game with a teaser trailer of a full-rendered, retouched Nomad to show off. While there was only minimal details shared, there were some tidbits worth mentioning.

One being that despite how we would presume the Switch version to perform running the over demanding Cryengine on the hybrid handheld, Crytek reassures that developer Saber Interactive is involved with the port. Most notably, the New Jersey-based team just finished with the release of CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt which was received well for how maintained the game was maintained on Nintendo’s system.

Just last week, developer Crytek left a subliminal tweet on the official Crysis Twitter account which instantly brewed a hype storm of following fans anticipating that the company would unleash something new for the series. Since the game’s last entry dating back to 2013, many speculated that there might be a new entry for the series while other dabbled with the idea of a potential remake of the franchise or simply a high-definition remaster.

While it was unclear what the motive was to entail the tease from Crytek, that did not hinder fans from speculating what exactly will are from the series. Now in a recent discovery just moments before, it looks that the cat has been let out of the bag ahead of when the studio anticipated to do.

According to users online who visit the game’s official website, after being met with a prompt for the domain’s ‘cookie policy’ the site then openly displays a header clearly reading “Crysis Remastered”. As of reporting, the website has been shutdown for users to access.

Reading the banner, it also discloses the slew of platforms that can expect the remaster to arrive on: Xbox One; PlayStation 4’ Nintendo Switch; PC. While not much other details were spared on the remaster itself, the website does emphasize that the reimaging of the 2007 title. Other information referencing technological adjustments or what’s new that the remaster offers was not provided.

Returning to the notion of Crytek’s excitement for Crysis debuting on Nintendo’s platform, it definitely will be interesting to see how the debut of Crytek engine performs on Nintendo Switch whenever the game arrives. The last recorded title that utilized the in-house engine dates back to 2014 with Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric on the Wii U: while the engine is more common place on competing consoles and PC, Nintendo’s platform is practically uncharted territory.
