It was a surprise learning back in April that Crytek’s prolific Crysis would be returning with a modern-generation port. Especially seeing how little activity has surrounded the franchise in the past decade alone – it surely is welcomed for Crytek to ship a newer and hopefully more stable version of the 2007 title. Most interesting is to see how the Nintendo Switch version of the game.
The first-person adventure gains its reputable notoriety not only for its iconic experience, but also for its system requirements that push pretty capable hardware at the time to its limits. Even looking at the Xbox 360 version of the game; players can find plenty wrong with the port despite it being somewhat stable. So to see that with an updated engine on the Nintendo Switch will surely be a view to see.
How that would be done is through a gameplay demo which is presumed to come at some point soon. Luckily, Crytek on YouTube has scheduled a gameplay trailer to be going live this coming Wednesday, July 1. With that, we can expect a better look at the game and possibly even find a release date for the title as well. However, it seems we already have the date according to findings on the Microsoft Store.
Doing so followers have unearthed the official page for the Xbox One version of the game which reveals that the game will arrive during the latter parts of next month – July 23rd. Of course, there is also a synapse of the game which you can read in the text below:
The classic first person shooter from Crytek is back with the action-packed gameplay, sandbox world, and thrilling epic battles you loved the first time around – now with remastered graphics optimized for a new generation of hardware.
Suit up: Your Nanosuit’s speed, strength, armor, and cloaking allow creative solutions for every kind of fight.
Adapt: In an ever-changing environment, adapt your tactics to dominate on battlefields ranging from frozen jungle to alien environments.
Customize: A huge arsenal of modular weaponry provides unprecedented control over play style, with options ranging from the experimental to the alien.
Conquer: Life-like enemy AI require a strategic and flexible playstyle, as new challenges – including a zero-g battlefield– require players to take the offensive and be proactive.
Explore: Choose your own path through the open world of Crysis, destroying obstacles, driving vehicles, and using the environment itself against your enemies.
This has become a larger trend as of recent with the Microsoft Store as titles have been leaked ahead of their announcement. That being the reveal for Mafia: Definitive Edition last month and the most recent being of Sabotage Studio’s The Messenger.
