Cyber Shadow Gets Late January Release Date, New Trailer Shares

This year despite the catastrophe that is the novel coronavirus also introduced a lot of cyberpunk releases. Anticipated entries like Ghostrunner in late October and this month’s release of Cyberpunk 2077, there is still one more release underway. That is the highly-anticipated, NES-inspired 2D platformer Cyber Shadow.

Developed by Mechanical Head Studios and Shovel Knight’s Yacht Club Games publishing the project, many fans flocked to the project upon its release. Even more so when the two firms disclosed that the game is expected to release later in fall 2020. The announcement came prior to the devastating spike in COVID-19 cases, so it is understanding for the extended wait leading into the holiday season now.

Thankfully, an update for the game was revealed during today’s Indie World livestream unveiling the game will now ship in late January. You can watch the new release date trailer n the video below:

“The world has been taken over by synthetic lifeforms. A desperate plea for help sets Shadow on a journey to uncover what started the path to perpetual ruin,” the overview reads on the Nintendo eShop. “Slash through the techno hordes, leap past traps, and nimbly navigate the ruins of Mekacity. Only you can unlock the secrets to your clan’s ancient powers in Cyber Shadow, the quintessential Ninja Action game.”

Heading over to the Yacht Club Games website, Mechanical Head Studios discloses the game would require more development time back in October. The firm also discloses that a price change is in effect now charging $19.99 for Cyber Shadow when it releases. You can read th blog post in its entirety by heading here.

Cyber Shadow is scheduled to release on January 26, 2021 for Nintendo Switch, PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
