Following the debut of Dragon Quest’s Hero for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate alongside the Version 4.0 update that launched in late-July, the next expected news for the game would not be for sometime from the lips of Nintendo. And that’s a fact, however, it seems that a dataminer has discovered that new game modes for the latest Smash title is in the game’s source code.
According to ResetEra user MondoMega, they have returned to a previous finding back in November which revealed game modes for the then-approaching game and have finally dug up some context on the modes. You can read the code the user discovered below:

Deciphered from the datamainer, they have shared that the prior unnamed modes have been revealed to be ‘Smash’, ‘Online’, and ‘Games & More’. Starting with the Smash mode, the users believes that the Special Smash Mode: some players predicting this to potentially be the Coin Battle mode that never launched with the game.
Moving to the Online mode, this is the most versatile seemingly due to it being possibly anything. The dataminer suggesting a possible Online Tourney mode or Shared Content feature. Lastly, the Games & More mode was already datamined alongside Stage Builder before, so the user is certain the mode to be Home-Run Contest.
